Due to the fact that i was very bored with ratting and very curious about the upcoming trinity changes i decided to hop on over to the test server and see all the new shinies with my own eyes. Of course after ooing and ahhhing for a while i got into peeking in at all the new ships and changes most of which i will not go into here then i hit a total WTF moment when i was looking into the black ops ships.
This is what each ship gets as bonus overall.
-Redeemer (Amarr) BS Bonus: 10% large energy turret cap use, 5% large energy turret ROF Black Op: 7.5% large energy turret tracking, 125% cloaking velocity modifier
Personal opinion very Amarrian, would like 5% damage instead of rate of fire bonus on turrets because it seems to me making them use less cap on the one hand and fire faster on the other just kinda works one against the other as far as bonus goes.
-Widow (Caldari) BS Bonus: 5% to cruise/torp launcher ROF and 10% to cruise/torp velocity Black Op: 20% to ECM strength, 125% cloaking velocity modifier
Personal opinion fits with the original ship will have the ECM power of a rook minus the range and reasonably nice missile power and range.
-Panther (Minmatar) BS Bonus: 5% large projectile turret ROF, 5% large projectile turret damage Black OP: 5% bonus to velocity, 125% cloaking velocity modifier
Personal opinion 15 meters/second faster than the phoon, 25% bonus velocity (At skill 5) and enough slots to fit for speed, this thing might just be reviving the nanophoons of old, seems like a nice and fun ship except i wonder how the turret tracking will be at high speed.
-Sin (Gallente) BS Bonus: 5% large hybrid turret damage, 10% drone HP/Damage Black OP: 5% agility bonus, 125% cloaking velocity modifier
Personal opinion: Very nice ship but WTF is that black op bonus.
Okay my question here after all that text is basicly will 25% agility (At skill level 5) actualy give anything to a battleship that really is not meant for speed anyways (132m/s base). Now i understand people hate drone ships with a passion and the Sin might wind up as having the best overall DPS of the Black Ops family but that bonus just seems to be totaly useless to me, what do you guys think?
Kahrek Laume.
-Hmmm Trinity will make you blow up prettier, i like it already.

it's like the kitsune.
they pre-nerf the ship by giving it a useless bonus.

Ahhh preemtpive nerfing, i see... not a bad concept except people will still want it nerfed more i am sure, maybe we can look at it the other way around, after the Gallente population cries murder about the slaughtering their ships are taking in Trinity (I am just waiting to see how the lach holds up post nerf myself since i have recon 5) they will make it all better by saying "Oh look we gave the Sin a boost!"
Nerf now, fix later, make people forget the other bad stuff :)

The idea here, according dev's, is to be able to scoop your sentry drones faster.
The opinions expressed herein are not necessarily those of my corps, not necessarily mine, and probably not necessary.

I'm an arazu pilot and I'll say this: after trinity, it won't be worth to fit damps in an arazu or lach any more, due to the 70% axe they got hit with. ---

Is it just me, or does the Amarr "cap use bonus" sound a bit like..well...pointless once more

as I said, CCP decided to pre-nerf the new ships by giving them a useless bonus.

Well honestly speaking,i don't mind. I find you just have to use these kind of ships in a different manner. In other words, active tanking, etc, use the cap into the places where the cap is usefull.
Just found it funny once more

true, but it seems that it's starting to be a trend that began with Afrigs, and then expanded now to the EAS and black ops ships.
and it's all funny untill someone pokes an eye out, or in this case, someone pops a screw out of their heads and go loco on the forums screaming about the bad ship bonus design made by CCP...

We'd remember Trinity as the Gallente Meta-Nerf, except for the small detail of the new graphics.
