What is going to be the standard NPC Raven fit after Trinity due to the Torp "adjustment". People still going to use torps or switch to Cruise Missiles?

i very rarely run missions, But i did log onto to sisi to see how this affected the raven,I decided that torps are pretty much out of the window, ravens too slow to get in range with torps and cruise provide enough damage to kill BS. |

For belt ratting:
6x cruise launcher 1x tractor 1x salvager
1x large booster 1x boost amp 3x hardeners 1x afterburner
4x ballistic control system 1x damage control / power diag
3x those rigs that reduce booster cap use, lots cheaper than CCC and similar effect.
Wont permarun but its damn close.

A new skill is being implemented, check sthe patch notes frequently.
-> "Torp change compensation" (Rank 1)
Desc.:
Skill to compensate the the nerf to missionrunners income caused by the torp change.
Each skill level adds 5 million ISK per hour to your wallet while sitting in a raven while logged out.

33 Km or so with max skills and no implants/rigs. Fair enough for a shortrange boat Nearly 70 km with jav torps, implants and T1 rigs. Sig removed. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like to know why. -Conuion Meow

Torps for angels, cruise for anything else...
- And Sokratesz setup is pretty much spot on for Mission running.

I'd guess that some people will still use them in low-sec/0.0 when camping gates. When you know that if someone comes through the gate you will be in relative range it will probably be a good choice because of the damage increase. Siege launchers arent getting a ROF decrease are they? |

Err.. what are you smoking? Torps get a 30% RoF rate increase... a HUGE buff for PvP...

The R in RoF already means rate.
In EVE, RoF is measured in seconds, which means that - paradoxically - a decrease in RoF means an increase in dps.

Well spotted, however an increase in rate of fire does not mean less DPS. A machine gun has a higher rate of fire than a semi-automatic weapon.
Ah, well I guess you didn't really care about what you posted either?

I was talking about EVE while you talked about real weapons, maybe you can provide me with a DPS number for that machine gun of yours?

Clearly EVE is an exeption to English grammar. I'm sorry, how silly of me, I didn't realise that we speak 'EVE' here.
- Come on lad, are you really that daft? I don't mind you correcting a typing mindslip in order for you to feel comfortable with that precious e-peen of yours, however you can't get a trophy for what you don't shoot.

I switch to the good old Megathron with Rails for missions. Its damage dealt per second is better than a CM Raven's and it tanks the same with a fraction of the costs involved, plus 5 Heavy Drones..

From what I gathered.......it seems you two or one of you might be misunderstanding the other. Or maybe I read wrong...
Essentially you would want your RoF to be high, ie: High Rate of Fire. A DECREASE would give you a LOW rate of fire, therefore lowering your DPS.

Oh you got me all wrong, I didn't mind the typo at all, but yes in this game some terms are used in a different way than their original meaning (according to "english grammar").
If you don't believe me, check out the patch notes, and you will find that

The rate of fire of Siege Missile Launchers has been decreased by 25%.
which really means an increase in dps.
I can't help it if you find that pointing this out is daft. Maybe it is.

It actually is truth to be told, although commonly accepted it's rather sloppy English on their part. Now I'm not a native speaker and frequently make grammatical errors but nor are the gents in EVE's developer team if I'm not misstaken.

Well if its a ROF increase then its a increase in how long it takes them to fire. But that was what I was asking. I honestly didnt know. What I thought was that the torps would do more damage base, not because of ROF changes. But if you mean they will fire 30% faster then yes that will be nice. If 30% slower, well, we will deal with it and to be fair it does make it more balanced if we are doing more damage per hit. We will just throw on some rigs/mods/implants. Fleet Admiral |

It really all depends on your point of view and how you write it. If you say the RoF is 1 round every 10 seconds or 1/10 rounds/s then a change to 1 round every 7 seconds or 1/7 rounds/s would an increase. If you say the RoF is simply 10 seconds, then a change to 7 seconds would be a decrease. EVE writes it the second way, but that doens't make the first way invalid.

With good skills I believe that you can keep on doing missions with torps, approaching with AB and shredding large ships...cruise missiles are way more efficient against smaller ships, but the true penalty in DPS by using them lies in the fact that a Cruise Missile goes down with defenders, while a Torp would require 2x defenders to be destroyed! That cripples your damage potential way more than EFT suggests
For ratting you can go for: Highs: 6x cruise launcher + cloaking + tractor Meds: AB 100mn for faster looting, 2 x Rat specific hards + Sensor Booster (to counter the cloak dev. penalty) or 3x Hards, Large Shield Booster II or XL and a Shield Boost Amplifier. (the Large booster is way more efficient). Lows: 2x PDU or 1x PDU + 1x Inertia + 3x BCS (do not fit 4 dmg mods)
You could also rat in a PvP setup featuring 1-2 Heavy Neuts, with MWD, scram and Cap booster...along with trimarks, proper ammo and proper support skills you can be invunerable to most roaming ships. Pack some FoFs along and panish even jamming gangs!!!
