Edited by: MyNameIsJackie Chan on 03/12/2007 13:16:47 Hi. I have a couple of questions:
1 :] I believe the intention of the game right now are that 2 corps/alliances that are at war can shoot eachothers pos's in high sec space without Concord getting involved?
Is this bugged at the moment or does it work?
2 :] Are there any corps / alliances yet that have done serious attacks on high-sec corps that run research / reaction chains?
3 :] If destroying a POS tower and then the mobile laboratory. Do blueprints drop, or are they allways destroyed?
(in other words, are my carebear ass safe or am I at risk after next patch)

1. True
2. Yes.
3. Drop + Destroy. Anybody stupid enough to have them in lab when it dies deserves to lose them, as it is, it's nearly impossible to lose your BPOs.
You carebear ass is pretty safe in hisec, CCP loves your carebear ass, and you have more than enough isk to "hire" some role players to play Eve on your behalf. --
Awwwww Diddums! Did I wardec your highsec alt recently or something? |

Your "carebear ass" was already unsafe. We've put at least 6 high sec alt corps / real corps pos's into reinforce for ransom purposes over the last couple months. Also I heard that after the trinity patch is deployed, if ya just take down the tower all the anchored goodies become unanchored and anybody can scoop 'em.

From the patchnotes: Starbase structures outside the forccefield now receive a 99% resist bonus on their structure HP while the Tower is online. General structure hitpoints have been reduced so they are easier to destroy once the Starbase is destroyed.
At least I take that as in POS guns now will be a pain in the ass until the actual tower is downed and it might not be that easy to conduct your "business" in the future. Now, I realize not all (or even many) corps put guns on their highsec poses..
But yes, when the tower dies, all other structures can be unanchored by anyone :)

Well you never had to do more than put the guns a little into structure to dissable them as i remember, so thats not such a big deal. Could be wrong though...
But yea a lot of poses don't have guns or even hardeners anchored in high sec

We just attacked our first high sec POS a few weeks back. We were originally hunting a different corp and I stumbled upon a small tower with a few labs protected by only 3 small guns run by 1 man alt corp.
His main was in an alliance. I figured we'd either pop the POS since I hadn't seen the alt online in a few days, or the alliance would bring us some pew pew fun.
I was right as always, we got the POS into reinforced, then the alliance brought the alt corp into their folds, enabling us to score 2 weeks of alliance war for only 4mil ISK.
They were able to rep the POS back to normal, so one day we will return to try again, in the meantime, we are picking off the alliance members left and right.
They added more guns, now 8 small lasers, and I could tank them in my Domi np.
It's funny stuff and we definitely plan on doing more of it. It really seems to annoy the carebears with these things sitting there defenseless.

Good luck attacking a high-sec large faction deathstar POS who have pos gunners though. Unless you have 150 BS pilots, its just a meat grinder. --------------- This sig has been censored in fear of recieving the ban hammer... |

Also, after Trinity, pos weapons in empire can be player controlled. Me for one, would always go after the repper ships Free Snickers to those that dare to edit my signature. |

I'm not really sure either. But I do know that a POS gunner with the applicable skills can and probably will make a POS siege a nightmare for the agressors.. Won't see much of that in highsec either because generally the dudes running their highsec research/manufacturing POSes know nothing of POS warfare
You know that when you see the setups.. I mean a wardec take 24h to complete.. And they still have no guns/hardeners on the towers. Personally, if I had a POS, I'd convert it into a deathstar for the duration of the war
And on a side note. I was a bit shocked yesterday when I travelled through Sobaseki and saw a bunch of your corpmates. Local was silent. No smack, No talk, No nothing.. I mean.. wtf?!

The blueprints are in corp hangar in one of the stations. No one puts them in the labs or else they would have put it up in 0.0

Nothing to it, just bring decent logistics support as HIGH-SEC (that is 0.5 ->) POS guns can't be controlled.
50 odd BS for dps, 10 or so logistics and any number of guns is just an annoyance, not a threat.

From the patchnotes: * It is now possible to control offensive starbase structures in high sec space. However they will only allow you to target players whom you are at war with or who are criminally flagged towards your corporation.
So, No, after the patch, attacking a Deathstar will be very very ugly when a POS gunner is available.

Our current crappy WT's have been on the recieving end of our smack and we must have just worn ourselves out .

Yea, but the likely hood of finding a research alt corp with enough sense to convert to a large death star (assuming they even had a large tower), enough members on the right time zone with the skills to man the guns whenever we attack (most of corps are 1 man with alts), and enough sense to put a smart setup on is laughable. The average eve player has no clue wtf they are doing and thats what we like to capitalize on .
The changes are mostly to our advantage with the new max ammount of stront. It makes it a lot easier to put one in reinforce and blow it up before the target can even get merc help.
