I'm guessing there is no info on what sort of music each of the races might enjoy. but if there were a Radio Amarr or Caldari FM what sort of music do you think they'd play?
Was just curious if other ppl's stereotypes fit mine.. not making another arguement, honest

Well... I'd assume Amarrs would listen to something akin to gergoarian chants or maybe classical. Gallente would probably like something along the lines of pop, Caldari... not sure.
Minmatarr would have the best metal though... \m/

Seph listens to classical music, but that is him, probably others listen to all kinds of music. From religious metal to pop chants. I've found that music is pretty independant from culture or religion.

My guess would be that pretty much any style of music you care to name (plus a few that are totally unlike anything contemporary) gets played on a variety of different stations, via different media and for various reasons. The population of EVE being what it is, I doubt it'd be possible to encapsulate the overall musical tastes of an entire factions.
Which is precisely why Egonics exists - to provide custom music to the individual consumer. -

I don't see minmatar doing gangsta rap. I see them doing stuff like Dragonforce and Children of Bodom, the power metal or death metal type of things.
And I think the Amarrians on a whole would be too conservative for any type of metal.

Amarrians would most probably listen to religious music, choirs or just listen to someone reading holy scrolls... The stereotypical minmatar would listen to something like african/haiti drums-style music, you know.. tribal or maybe metal , standard gallente would be pop, hiphop, maybe pop-rock, etc, while the stereotypical caldari wouldn't listen to anything since they don't have time for entertainment since that doesn't bring profit. Aside from that, electronic or sort of ambient background music could also fit

dunno, doesn't look too Amarr to me.. The coat's more in the direction of a classic sci-fi gala uniform only w/o insignias, therefore my guess would be some pirate faction but not bloodraiders, more like Angels.. or even Guristas could do

As for Gallente, I would imagination them to enjoy a very wide variety of music from dance music to light RMB to world.
The Minmatar can imagine listening to rock and foreign folk songs (tribal stuff).
When I think Amarr I think... organs, harpsichords and Gregorian Chanting

I Think that Caldarians would be more into Jazz or Trad Jazz. maybe Oscar Peterson stuff Gallenteans into the more cheesy pop music we hear today. Minmatar would have a wide diviersity, maybe tribal.. ethnic ect. Amarrians maybe more Joni Mitchell? Also with the religious music. ------------ From the integrated screen in the pod of Jack Hybrid |

I think that given their size and the level of interaction between the Empires, that many types of music are enjoyed throughout the cluster.
One thing I really don't like though, are all the people claiming that a majority of Amarr listen to Gregorian chants and such. Just because the Amarr are religious conservatives doesn't mean that they listen to old-fashioned music.
While I usually don't like to draw parallels between our world and the world of Eve, if we look at the music enjoyed by many evangelical Christians in the United States and elsewhere it runs the gamut in terms of style. Today we have Christian rock, rap, pop, heavy metal, and probably even trance or other more "electronic" genres of music, in addition to more traditional hymns and chants.
While reactionary, arch-conservative Amarr might listen only to hymns, I think that more moderate Amarr listen to all types of music.
I'd also like to point out that there are probably some pretty strong connections between Amarrian and Minmatar musical genres, at least at some level. The cultural exchange that takes place during slavery runs two ways and I'd imagine that the each culture influences the other at least to some degree (in terms of music at least, but I also think the same is probably true for things like food too).

I agree...a population is not a single individual, you can imagine an anmar pilot listening some heavy metal devotion songs (totally stupid exemple, but you got the idea) or I don't know what... I don't think you can apply stereotypes to music, in fact (aside from a pure atmosphere point of view).
By the way, I would suggest Epica - The last crusade as a good Amnar song he he he (Yes it's metal, but see ? you still have choirs in it, nah !)

Or they would listen to Der Blutarsch or The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud (but a more religious/less pagan version of it). Which is what I happen to listen to :). So it works out I guess.
I also listen to heavy metal, which is why Im going to cross-train mimnatar pretty soon. :p

Well well I do listen to heavy metal too, but I'm still Gallente (Well okay that means I'm supposed to listen to heavy metal with french lyrics I guess).
By the way as a composer I'm currently working on some songs supposed to be Sanrek's creations (Well with half of my stuff unplugged I'll have some issues with voice recording so I'll have to find someone else to pretend to be the lead singer)...I want him in a politicly engaged punk or heavy metal band he he he...
