Edited by: Aerandir Telrunya on 06/12/2007 11:35:50 Nope and the 'windows client' under cedega doesn't work either but I hear the 'linux client' does so I'm going to give that a go.
PS. Wine gives me this when I try to run eve post patch:
myusrname@mypc:~$ env WINEPREFIX="/home/myusrname/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" fixme:process:IsWow64Process (0xffffffff 0x33fe3c) stub! err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {9a5ea990-3034-4d6f-9128-01f3c61022bc} could be created for context 0x1 fixme:process:IsWow64Process (0xffffffff 0x34b6f0) stub! fixme:process:IsWow64Process (0xffffffff 0x34b6f0) stub! err:ole:create_server class {4991d34b-80a1-4291-83b6-3328366b9097} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {4991d34b-80a1-4291-83b6-3328366b9097} could be created for context 0x4 fixme:sync:BindIoCompletionCallback 0x1a8, 0x4edfce, 0, stub! wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000028 at address 0x487cd5 (thread 002b), starting debugger...

they added some new things that wont work in wine... yet... wait for a few more releases.. EVE is a officaly supported app so it shouldn't take long for them to get it up and going... --- Erelim ---

Which wine version are you two using? 0.9.50 should have the I/O completion and asynchronus I/O implemented... if you have tried an older version, you should upgrade.

Edited by: Snowcrash Winterheart2 on 08/12/2007 11:55:20 0.9.50-GIT, with bitflip and d2d change here. Splash n' crash with Wine stating the BindIOCompletion routine stub as the last thing on screen. Looking at appdb, seems people are working on it slowly as are people here.
Annoying.

Edited by: Snowcrash Winterheart2 on 08/12/2007 21:47:48 BindIO can be worked around with the no lan 'work around'. Basically pull/disable your network card before firing it up and you'll get the splash. Turn network on... wait... it grinds... punch it. And voila character selection. You will eventually end up in a station with your ship floating there.
Undocking pumps this to the console:
fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_select >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUseProgramObjectARB @ glsl_shader.c / 3188 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_load_constants >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUniform4fvARB @ glsl_shader.c / 378 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_load_constantsI >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUniform4ivARB @ glsl_shader.c / 253 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_select >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUseProgramObjectARB @ glsl_shader.c / 3188 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_load_constants >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUniform4fvARB @ glsl_shader.c / 378 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_load_constantsI >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUniform4ivARB @ glsl_shader.c / 253 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_select >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUseProgramObjectARB @ glsl_shader.c / 3188 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_load_constants >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUniform4fvARB @ glsl_shader.c / 378 fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_load_constantsI >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glUniform4ivARB @ glsl_shader.c / 253
And it promptly dies for me. I'll try various gfx options as I'd set it to 16bit.
This is with Wine-git & elfies patch from the appdb entry for Trinity.
ETA: Proof is in the screenshot thread.
