Anyone else experiencing EVE now hooking up to only one core rather than going over both as before?

Yesterday I was playing 2 accounts on eve on a 3 and a half year old computer. Today I'm playing 2 Trinity accounts on a brand new, dual core AMD computer.
Had nothing but problems...
you could be right.
ps 1st in a chribba thread.

Tbh, I've never known EvE run on multiple cores, it's not a multi-threaded app afaik... I thought it's in the pipeline for the client, but isn't capable just yet... Did I get this wrong?

Out of curiosity, how would I check to see if it was running off of one or two cores?
Eve, save for the multiple cluster-f's that are going on at the moment with the new patch, has run well on my DC 4600+ with two accounts going.

The easiest way is to open Task Manager and see the percentage that the process is using on, but it's not 100% accurate that way...

with Trinity, its probally a good time to setup Eve to utilize two cores when two are present.
the graphics enginge can run a thread on its own, performance would be very nice for multicore users.
but im not the programer, i would venture to guess that the programmers havn't gotten around to runing the gamecore and graphics engine on separate threads yet...

Nah the client wasn't (and prolly isn't) coded for multithreading, however before the OS itself spread it over two cores, but now it seems the client itself choses to use only one core.
Before patch the load could be like 60/40 over the cores, now it's 100/0 even if set to use both cores. So seems something has been changed, maybe this core usage is what makes my mouse stall every other second?

Has anyone tried to set the affinity for each client, i.e. if your running 2 clients you could be able to allocate 1 core to each client. http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10877-6168870.html

I`m running a Quad Core and all core`s are at around 33% in the task manager but dono how much the task manager can be trusted.

I generally do that when using 2 or more clients. Not sure it makes a bit of difference, but I do it anyway. --------------------------------------------
