Good summary. Proves my posts in previous threads about how Missiles need to be rebalanced soon.
A word about Torpedoes:
Torps currently have no more range than HAMs do, yet they are a battleship-class weapon. But when you compare Cruise Missiles to Heavy Missiles, they have DOUBLE the range. Clearly there is a balancing issue here. Torpedoes really need a 50% range boost to make them anywhere near balanced.
Explosion Radius. 650metres for a Tech2 Rage torpedo makes it almost useless without 3 Target Painters, and dont get me started on the range and velocity of them. It takes on average at least 7 seconds for them to hit each their target, Rage Torps are so slow.
The fact that Torpedoes take time to hit their target and cause damage is already enough of a handicap without the issues above.
Defender Missiles. Most Battleship rats and even some Cruiser and Battlecruiser rats use defender missiles, wiping out 25% of the Golem's alpha immediately. The other Marauders don't have this problem, and tracking disruptors are not common enough in missions to cause problems for turrets.
If I saw Torpedo range given a 50% boost and explosion radius reduced by 20% then I would be happy with my Rage or Javelin Torpedo's performance. |

What alot of people do not realise about the Golem is that the delay it takes for your volley to actually hit your target.
From my experience it takes on average 7 seconds for your Torp volley to hit your target, which is a HUGE handicap compared to the other Marauders. Especially when the other Marauders, being Gun Boats, hit for instant damage.
I've said it once and I will say it again, Torpedoes need a huge range boost, at least 50%. It's already painful enough having to fit 3 Target Painters to actually do any meaningful damage, even against Battleships, without the damage delay and the poor range versus HAMs. How can it be right that HAMs, a cruiser-class weapon, have the same range as a battleship-class weapon? |

This. A lack of modules equivalent to Tracking Enhancers and Tracking Computers for Missiles severely handicaps them in my opinion.
At the moment our only fitting options are damage modules (Ballistic Control System), and Target Painters (which benefit Turrets too anyway).
Something like a Ballistic Guidance System in lows would be pretty good, giving a good boost to Missile Flight Time while giving a small penalty to Missile Velocity - overal boost to total Range. |

No, mission velocity should not be increased. That is the point about missiles, you get extra range but sacrifice that 'instant-hit' you get with turrets. I actually LIKE the fact that Missiles have a long time-to-target. It's what makes their other advantages possible. |

If you rig a Paladin with Optimal range rigging, you get an Optimal of 63km with Scorch. Superior to Javelin Torpedoes, and Missile are supposed to have the LONGER range than Turrets, whereas in fact the Golem only has 60km with Javelins if you use the comparable rigging. |
