My laptop is a 2.16 GHz intel Core 2 Duo with 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and neither version of the games works. My screen is always scrabbling and getting stuck and then finally crashing. I have only been on for a month and can't seem to have a single play session without the screen screwing up.
Can someone help me

Is it a Macbook or a Macbook Pro? The Macbook's graphics hardware isn't supported by Eve.

Unfortunately is a Macbook and now I know I really do have to trade my computer for a Pro. I knew that Is what I should have bought.
I still hear others are having problems with the Pro as well though

it has nothing to do with the graphic card. With wine opened eve or dual booted windows your graphics will do fine, the problem is with mac native client. there is no solution for this tho :S

I can play EVE on my Macbook 2.16 C2D with 2GB of RAM. It's not amazing, but it's playable. I suggest playing through Boot Camp on Windows XP if you can. The windows client seems more forgiving on a Intel GMA 945.

I have a MacBook and EVE is the only game that doesn't play "nice." I think it is a client issue, and not a graphics or hardware issue. The reason I say this is that I have no problem playing World of Warcraft on the MacBook just EVE.
The Mac Client feels like a badly programmed port. CCP needs to go back to the drawing boards on this one.

I can only use my MacBook to do simple things like change skills etc. The texture memory gets corrupted all the time if I am on too long or try to do anything complex. It manifests itself as random textures scattered all over the screen.
On my Mac Pro tower, the client works, except for the ever-present random crashes enjoyed by all Mac users.

Is the Macbook really not supported, and will it never be? This is with the 2.2ghz, x3100 chip.

Unfortunately it is the Intel graphics.
While the chipset is good, the actual drivers used by OSX (supplied by Intel) for this graphics chipset are not the best and it is due to this that it May or maynot work and thus why we did not include support for thim in the product. Some people have had luck and got them running but it down to individuals.
I'm sorry that this is your experience and that we do not have better news, maybe one of the other users on here can help you more.
