Call for Techy help
Trying to use EVE Voice wiht BT Home Hub (no need to post pages of abuse - i know it's not great).
Performed "ECHO TEST" and the trouble shooter gave me "Error Code: 3838 UDP Data was changed en route to the Echo Server"
Added "voiceport=3062" at the end of "prefs.ini" but still no joy
Looking at changing setting of BT Home Hub but think i might screw it up.
Any one managed to sort it - please let me know

Hi Ant,
I haven't got the issue myself, but what did you do to sort it in case anyone else has.

I've tried adding voiceport=3062 to prefs ini, and went into the firewall settings of my home hub to open up every port i've seen mentioned in the forums that are supposed to be used by EVE... ie UDP ports 26001, 3478 and 5060 TCP Ports 26000, 80 and 443. Also opened up 3062 as TCP / UDP but eve voice still comes up with the error, so any pointers as to what you did would be handy.

Edited by: Nate D on 12/12/2007 17:50:57 Default Voice port is 5062.
Here's the Knowledgebase page with the troubleshooter error info. http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=320
Quote: Error Code # 37, 38 - UDP Data was changed en route to the Echo Server.
Cause: This problem is usually caused by smart routers that are attempting to ôhelpö VoIP traffic.
Remedy: Consult the router manual to disable these features. If your router has options related to VoIP or Internet Telephony (e.g. SIP). Please disable and restart your router before trying the troubleshooter again (1). In some cases router firmware can be upgraded to current released version to fix inherent bugs.
Hope this helps, -Nate

Yeah, already seen that , the only option relating to internet telephony is the one that lets you use the Hub Phone. Turned it off, even disabled (very VERY briefly) the Hub firewall and Nortons firewall. Didn't make a difference. Can't be a computer glitch as it occurs on 2 PCs So unless anyone has any other ideas.... Its gonna be TS for a while

Added "voicport=3062" to end of pref.ini
Activated BT Broadtalk (not sure if this was related or not) Went into BT Homehub Advanced Configuration Created EVE as a shared application (as per following link for Port Forwarding)
http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/homehub.html#port
Protocol = UDP Port Range = 3062 to 3062 Translate to 3062
Hope this helps
