So I was poking my head around and as usual I spotted the lovely threads about cloaking and what not...
Now, I have no idea if anyone has suggested this in the past or how well it would even go over but I'd like to see some people give their feedback on something this.
First of all, my opinion is that cloaking is awesome. A cloaking device shouldn't be able to be circumvented. With that said however, I'm curious what people would think of a piece of deployable equipment like a warp disruption bubble that prevented ships from being cloaked in its radius. Small, medium and large variants would have to be made (I'd like to see s 60km radius on the large personally). They would have to be expensive to create, but tough to destroy and take more than a couple of minutes to deploy.
What do I think this will do for null? Admittedly, my null experience is slim to none so I'm not sure what the real ramifications would be, but I believe the way it would work out is that people would be able to properly defend their systems from AFK cloakers and scouts, assuming they properly guard their gates.
The anti-cloak bubble, so to speak, would prevent cloaky ships from just jumping in, cloaking and going about their merry little way, instead they would be vulnerable while they aligned, or better yet were slow boating/mwd'ing out of the warp bubbles at the same gate. This would allow cloakers to still operate like they do, but groups that guard their systems well would be able to prevent AFK cloakers and scout ships from passing through with impunity.
Thoughts? I'm curious to see what flaws people can mention for this idea. :) . . . omg |

Way too overpowered and unnecessary. As it stands in null, the chance of getting out of any bubbled gate camp is vastly reduced and not at all a guarantee, even with a cloak. What you are asking for is the chance to catch everyone, which isn't a balanced approach to an idea at all.
Plus as you seemed to have pinned on the normal AFK whine, I'll give you an OP balanced reply. You already have a massive advantage with local giving you advanced knowledge of the fact he's there. For this to even be considered, you'd have to lose local completely.
Oh and your idea has been suggested time and time again.
CCP Zulu..... Forcing players to dock at the captain's quarters is a form of what we actually wanted to get through, which is making Incarna a seamless part of the EVE Online experience. |

Somewhere in the EVE Database, there is an experimental Anti-Cloak Smartbomb This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine. |

Null sec pull bubbles can decloak a ship if you know wtf youre doing. You dont need other deployables to accomplish this goal. l2play, nub. |
