My char stats are roughly:
Int: 16 Mem: 10 Will: 17 Per: 6 Cha: 3
I like the background of the Amarr race, and I so chose to be Amarr/Amarr and an engineer. I've had a fun time so far, but my main concern is the very high willpower on my character. Unfortunately, given the background, that seemed to be only real choice (Religious Reclaimers).
Is my character gimped, or can I continue to enjoy the game without having to worry about the future?
Thank you.

Hell no. Willpower is a damn useful stat to have high as it's linked to many skills.
One thing you do need to remember is stats only decide how long it takes for your character to learn skills, other than that they have no effect on the game what-so-ever. It's skills not stats that matter.

Define gimpage? Yes your character is less then optimal but honestly do you want to look like achura male #19292919?
If you really want to reroll, make perc highest, then int and keep wp/mem roughly equal.
Also if you got more then 2 million SP don't bother unless you are sure you will be playing 2 years from now. --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |

rerolling is a very silly idea in eve, you can augment those stats with learning and implants for virtually nothing ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

if you are very new then a re-roll would be useful in the long run - just dont add anything to Will next time [slap it on Percpetion]

Since you are new, do you understand that you can train various learning skills to improve these attributes? This involves the purchase of skill books, which are the foundation of character skill acquisition/improvement in Eve.
Also, you can purchase implants that affect various character attributes, including the 4 basic character stats. ---- I am Super Cool

Thank you all for your advice.
I will not be rerolling; I think as several have said there are appropriate alternatives already in place (skill training) that can rectify the uneven distribution of attribute points.
Thanks, Jupiter

honestly if youre less than a week old i would reroll with 2 less will and 2 more perc.
more balanced stats will help your training time in a huge way.

Remake your character, take whatever bloodline you like but put all points into perception and intelligence. Your current attributes are very bad, to little perception.

his attributes includes learnings and implants. as long as your intelligence or perception is not below 3 its an alrighty char. read akita's guide. 10 will power?! it's alright, it's a little more useful than memery for PvP characters. (unless you want 10mil in drones) Reroll- if you played more than 2 months and/or have over 3 mil sp or over 1.5 mil in learnings don't bother reroll. stick with amarr, they are great

Willpower comes in handy for mazing out t2 pvp related skills, if you want to get recon ships to lvl5, for example...
that said perception has a much greater effect, and is used as the primary attribute in like 3 times as many skill points as the other attributes.
if you are brand brand new, reroll, same bloodline, then add +3 to perception, +2 to int, then select the option that gives more perception if it exists.
if youve been around for more than a month, dont worry about it, +4 implants are super cheap these days.

Also, the amarr khanid bloodline is quite good, lets you stay amarr, and has better initial starting stats with which to build on.
for example, you can choose khanid, then add +3 to perception, +2 to int, then either choose cyber knights for +3 perception and +1 int for max pvp, or zealots for +2 mem, +2 willpower balanced all around char.
amarr->khanid->zealots->military->soldier in balance mode described above will have
charisma 5 int 7 mem 6 perception 11 willpower 10
and starts with gunnery lvl5 and small energy turret lvl5, so you can train t2 small guns practically off the bat.
Its a little low on int tho....+3 int, +2 perception during creation would help balance a little more, or going +3 int, +2 mem, then choosing cyber knights, etc.
alot of options

Willpower is very good for learning T2 ship piloting skills such as Command Ships (etc..)

You will have a great learning time for ship skills given your high will power.

Edited by: Nastasia on 16/12/2007 09:07:41 What you have seems to be ok. Intelligence and Perception are primary for most of pvp skills. Memory and Willpower are secondary and secondary skills count basically as half of primary skills as far as skill training goes. The training formula for any skill is (primary points + 1/2 secondary points) sp per minute for. So imagine you have perception of 13 and will power of 4. Training rate for a gunnery skill would be 13+1/2(4)=15. If you have willpower of 13 and perception of 4 you've got 4+1/2(13)=10.5. Hence why it is good to strive to have high attributes that are primary for majority of skills you're going to train.
