Yeah that kind of speed is great but in reality for a 15 mill isk ship (roughly) and about 300 mill in mwd/implants/rigs that alone should be a good balance. Now very little percentage of dictor pilots ever spent that kind of isk onto a dictor (like me). Without all that fancy gear on the ship and just T2 lvl 4 skills and basic speed implants a dictor went about 5.7km/s
Now look at the interceptor, 18km/s + if you put the same gear on it & implants, but most - now with the basic t2/basi speed implants it still goes around 7km/s depending on the ship
Now the dictor with basic t2 fit , basic speed implants goes about 3.7k m/s because of the nerf. The size of the dictors are almost like cruisers.
Now if you read the description of the interdictors it says tha they're anti-frigate class ships - and stop enemy movement. After the nerf they ARE NOT anti-frigate class ships. Infact BATTLESHIP size weapons can hit the basic fit interdictor quite hard (Cruise missiles).
THIS IS WHAT DICTORS CAN/CANT DO AFTER THE NERF
dictors were able to kill the type of ships they were intended to kill (frigate sized) but now a crow could possibley solo most of the dictors. Dictor can't catch an interceptor. It just can't.
Dictors can't get onto snipers (which is how fleet battles are fought) and if there is ravens in somebody's fleet they'll just rock the dictors with cruise.
So pretty much they're good for gate camping - oh wait everybody uses jump bridges for everything in the majority of 0.0, so they're only good for 0.0 entrance points , oh wait most are controlled by big alliances that have a cyno jammer up and jump bridge-in capitals and camp the gate. which makes them almost invulnerable, sure the dictors can bubble the capitals tho, until it gets primaried and gets rocked because its so slow. going off topic but still big mistakes of ccp for the lil' man.
How to possibley fix it:
Keep the speed how it is , give it a bonus for signature radius decrease to MWD'S , so cruise missiles can't hit it or nerf cruise missiles (they do need a look into). or can just give the speed back because there was nothing wrong with it.
Give the close ranged dictors range bonuses (25-30km) to their weapons so they can kill frigate sized ships, or give the dictors their speed back so they can catch up.
By giving dictors these nerfs and new stuff introduced into the game it makes almost every situation for which you'd use a dictor pretty much void, even if 1 of those situations is in the description of the ships (anti-frigate classed ships)
where's the logic in this nerf

Three things determine survivability in combat.
1. Speed - The ability to dodge shots or run away from enemies that are too tough. 2. Tank - The ability to soak up damage and keep staying alive. 3. Innoculousness - The ability to not draw attention.
Of these, most ships rely on #2 - Tank to stay alive. Battleships and BCs do at least. #1 is what keeps Interceptors and Vagabonds (and formerly) Interdictors alive. #3 is what keeps T1 Frigates, 'Trash' ships like Feroxes and such alive when nastier targets are around. It also protects cloakers, as you appearing in the middle of action may not get noticed.
Typically, ships have a mix. But now, the Interdictors have none of those. They're not that much faster than Minmatar AFs, they're poorer tanks than AFs (sig radius issues and lack of resists), and they are definately not innocuous: Interdictors are always primary target #1.
Anything resembling survivability pretty much is gone, especially with the aggro-on-drop change to bubbles. A pity, since Dictors were fun ships to fly and rewarding for your teammates. ~~~

did you even read the post? that was with hardwirings , and you can't always have somebody with you in a ship that gets bonuses for skirmish warfare mods I fail at life, just like the person reading this |

did you know in eve items are actually finite? :shock:
and who cares if you don't have the skirmish guys? either play more conservatively or don't--this is the new reality, get used to it

Hurray for Zulupark/CCP making EVE an idiot's game. Of course, it's totally cool that the Hyena speeds along >4km/s doing a better job at tacking sub-battleship ships than any interceptor can, never mind tech II cruisers like ishtar, curse and vagabond can still go 4.5km/s with minimal tech II fittings and just polycarbs..
For the record, I'm not calling Zulupark or any other CCP person an idiot (not anymore anyways) because it's pretty intelligent what CCP are doing here.. The game was built by hardcore players, and now CCP want to cash in on not-so-hardcore gamers that are looking for games to play.
There's another reason CCP could have done this (no, not the actual balance issue, of which there was only an issue with ONE interdictor) and that is so Heavy Interdictors become more popular.. ===== |

it was done because the Sabre was overpowered. Instead of just nobbling the sabre they took the lazy approach and nerfed all of them. **** happens

so your sayingmy 4 man gang travelling has to include a 150 mill pod and a calymore with god knows how much in implants? grow up, and think a little before posting. or maybe try pvp without blob tactics where you sont have the luzury of a claymore in every gang.
the sabre was never overpowered. it did its job, its just the eris had a useless layout, and the flycatcher was a little too much slower than the others. dictors didnt need a nerf. a sabre could never kill a thorax, or a rupture or stabber (very rarely maybe) and yes, it could kill intys, but only a careless inty gets kill by a ship that was originally 25% slower,,, and now another 25% slower. RETURN INTERDICTORS TO THEIR ORIGINAL STATE. eve is getting boring _________________________________________________________ Only once you've lost everything, are you free to do anything.
