I see that the previous thread on this subject was locked as it was considered a whine. This is NOT a whine. I'd like to hear why CCP felt that mineral compression "exploit" that only effected a handful of ppl was considered big enough an issue to turn looting for everyone (except those who like to play with several accounts simultaneously or those who have slaves.... err friends in their corps who have nothing better to do than to clean someone else's byproducts)? It is also clear that voulme changes are highly inconsistant and are devoid of even basic logic. How a medium gun can take more space than an equivalent large gun?
I can propose the following solution. The problem was with mineral compression of T1 items, so what if:
1) T1 items (nonnamed) are dropped from loot tables all together - it will also boost T1 production which is atm mostly a waste of time
2) T1 (nonnnamed) volume will be significantly increased (compared to pre-Trinity values) but in a logical way, so that a large gun will take more space than a medium one
3) T1 loot (named) which can not be produced, btw, will retain pre-trinity volume values (also refining values for it may be reduced to boost miners and nerf "loot mining")
I think this idea is much better than current implementation of volume values which looks like generated by some random number function.

Uhm apart from the fact that a large chunk of money you make from missions comes from those supposedly worthless T1 items.
Most things large and T1 unnamed sell quite nicely because the T2 market needs them.
Remove T1 unnamed mods and a big chunk of isk is removed from missions. Do you fill that hole with some more named modules? Well you can't because then you have more named mods than unnamed, and so you end up with named mods being cheaper than unnamed.
-Yes even I had to read that twice to understand it
So you have to get an alt or a corpmate to come haul stuff from your mission? Hmm, CCP forcing you to work with someone else. NO WAI! Thats their whole concept of Eve, everything is built around teamwork. Just adapt like everyone else has. =============================================

Well, let's be honest here. When CCP as you say is "forcing you to work with someone else." for the vast majority it ends with clicking on "create account" button. There are many reasons for that, ppl are stingy and suspicious when it comes to ISK and resource gathering, especially in the "no consequences" virtual world of Eve; it's also inconvenient to wait for a corpmate to do such a basic activity as mission-running or ratting. With all good will, I can't call working with an alt a teamwork. In short, it does not encourage teamwork at all. It only adds more hassle for ppl who want to loot their own mission and bring best items they can find with them for future reselling.
T2 industry needs T1 items, it is true, but most T2 producers either purchase T1 stuff from T1 producers or produce it themselves. In it's current state it is impossible for a mission runner or a ratter to loot his own loot even for named stuff, so my solution will make it possible to do so again without having to worry about running to station after looting 4 cruiser-class modules. As it will remove some of the income from missions, it will boost the industry (both T1 and miners) and I believe in a player driven economy that is the proper way to get goods that players can produce - from the players and not from NPCs. My solution is good for T1 industry, for miners and for mission runners and ratters. It is a blow for owners of dedicated looting/hauling alts, but IMHO every solution that nerfs alts is a good one.
