I've been playing since early 2004 and don't recall this having been brought up, but it's possible.
Approximately 25% of all males have either outright red/green colorblindness or red/green color "difficient". If you're wondering where you are (if you're male or simply a woman in flannel), try this simple online test.
Online Colorvision Test
I fall into the latter of the two possibilities, so I can see just about everything as everyone else does. However, much to the demise of my top gun asperations in the late 80's, I cannot distinguish between subtle shades of red and green, with some browns thrown in for the extra screw thee from the cosmos.
I find it very difficult to see the blinking red brackets on the overview showing that someone has locked my ship and have always found it difficult.
How hard could it possibly be to give us a color option for this? I assume a good bulk of the code is already there because of the customization possibilities with the rest of the overview.

You can change colours via the over settings to a suitable colour for you to see.

Go to overview settings and open, then appearence and colourtags.
Change to your hearts content. Hope it helps
I'm unaware of being able to change the color of the active icons in the overview, such as the yellow bracket that tell you someone is locking you and the red brackets that tell you someone has locked you. I know about the color tags and backgrounds and such, but I have not seen an option to change those active icons.
I'm away from my client right now, but will check it out tonight.

Unfortunately there are other ways that color comes into play in the game that aren't user-configurable.
For example, whatever color the warp disruptor effect is, that's totally invisible to me. I cannot physically see the effect.

i'm color blind and my only issue is the pulsing green module icons.
They pulse green when active, red when being deactivated, dull grey when not doing anything.
With the nebulae background, i cant tell if the module is active or not or if I deactivated it or not.
Would be nice if the module menu was re-worked to have a different indicator.. like an animated ||||||| type of bar that pulses back and forth (think knight rider car hood thingy) when its de-activating, and dissapears when inactive and becomes solid bar when active.

A bit off topic, but just want to clear something up here.
When the bracket goes yellow, it is not locking, you have already been locked. Red indicates you are being fired upon. There is no indicator for a lock in progress.
This stuff came up when we were experimenting with cloaks, determining when you could and could not activate the cloak. Once you see yellow, cloak won't work, as you are locked.

Sorry, thanks for clearing that up. However, I messed with the overview as well and, as I thought even before I started, there is no way I can see to alter the color of those icons.
In keeping with something someone said earlier, the module activations are also problematic for someone (25% of males, remember) to see it against the different nebula backgrounds. I have long suggested that the module icon have a "clock" sort of motion that starts as a full circle when you activate the module, then sweeps around clockwise showing how soon the next cycle is going to start (or the current one end).

I'am also color blind and i would find support for this issue from CCP very helpful on a day to day basis.
While its true over time you do learn to "adapt" and "work around" the issue, their simply isnt enough done to make this un required, and it was a feature promised to the community on number of different blogs at one point or another.
While i understand CCP is busy with "more important" stuff, could you please consider adding some customizability to your UI regarding color, and no i dont mean add more themes ;)
