Looking to grind some standings with a couple of Empires, have checked the wiki but it seems unclear about what affects your standings , would anyone be good enough to list what can positivley or negativley effect your empire standings. Cheers

storyline missions will raise your standings for that empire and their allies, and reduce your standings with the opposing empires.
epic arc missions also get a standings gain. missions from agents in space usually have a standings gain on completing.
Failing a mission will reduce your standing
shooting at npcs belonging to that empire, will reduce your standing
being caught with illegal cargo, will reduce your standing
Getting a new rank in Faction warfare will raise your standings with the empire whose militia you are in. (think it might result in a drop with the opposing empire too, not sure on that).

the fastest way to earn faction is actually from distribution agents, as 16 couriers can be completed rather quickly.
But this is for the hardcore amonst you only as it is mindnumbing.
But definately use distributions when you have idle moments to speed things up |

Not entirely sure what 'epic arc missions' are or what you mean by 'agents in space' here, but these seem to be the only two things you can do that don't negativly affect another empires standing , is that right?

my first year in the game was spent doing lowsec couriers in atron/itty3 combo. whilst i trained my core skills that enabled all lvl4 agents of two races. then i spent 3 years in a navy vexor working on my faction standings to acheive perfect standings
btw, they nerfed couriers since and only an itty would be needed now, no atron |

Agents in space - there are some sites, where there are agents in ships parked in space. They offer various missions, there are the COSMOS missions, and there are the datacentre missions. Datacentre missions ask for some pirate tags. Their missions will reduce opposing empires standings though.
The epic arc missions are from other agents, some in space to start the arc, but most are in stations. I think they do not have a negative effect on opposing empire standings. However, you have to wait 3 months before being able to do the same arc again.

So basically it isn't possible to have good standings with all empires?
As if you promote any one (or two) empires the other one (two) will consider you an enemy and 'shoot to kill' you.

I think I remember reading something in the "missions" subforum, about how it is possible to get +standings with all four major empires, but it is something like +3 or so that is the maximum you can get, i.e. not enough to put a highsec POS into any empire space. I think it involved things like, doing Amarr missions to raise Amarr+Caldari standings (but which reduces Gallente+Minmatar standing) and then doing Sisters of Eve missions which bring Gallente+Minmatar standings up, but don't have a particularly big effect on Amarr+Caldari standing.
As long as you do not shoot their npcs, your standings with the opposing empires will bottom out at -5. which with the "Diplomacy" skill trained, will take your effective standings above -5, and you will not be fired upon by those empires. |

I had no time for such precision. In order to get my faction to ten, I let two races go
And just to add I get absolutely NO benefits from my perfect faction standings, Just kos in two races highsec for my hard work. |

Is Pos ownership transferable by contract or somesuch then as maybe the best way to aproach this is to have an alt 'specialise' in each empire alliance, have them leave the alliance and form a front company , establish the POS and transfer ownership to original corp?
