Patch is running I cant log in and last night had a skill that would need to be changed now. Unfortunately I will lose hours because of a patch.
This is redundant, seriously put in a que system already.

You know you can change skills even if there is allready one in training? You dont even loose skillpoints by doing so. So if you know it will end during downtime just start a longer and continue with the shorter one after DT.

From every single patch news post:
Please note: Training a long learning duration skill ending after the scheduled return to service is recommended.

Que? Como?
Oh, you mean a queue?
Train a long skill next time. Assume the server will be down for up to 24 hours following any patch.

So what, I wasnt aware of a patch, thats a stupid remedy to a bad problem. You should be able to have at the very least a back up que of one skill just in case your whole live doesnt revolve around this game.

Wow youre smart you know how to point out a mis-spelled word! I didnt know there was going to be a patch, my life doesnt revolve around this game.

All I can do is suggest you keep on the news when you log into the game. The news items are on the right side of the screen on the character selection page. Patches are always announced there. A queue isn't really needed. --------------------

Rule # 1: EVE is not my life either Rule # 2: Patches are post over 3 days in advance. More like a week. If you can't read, well tough ****. If you don't log in more than 1 time per week, STOP PLAYING WOW!.
Then again, you could just be a little slow and miss the news column that shows up when you get to your character selection screen. Takes 15 sec's to read it. And OMG, if a patch is upcoming, it will be there.
Umm, yeah.
I feel better now.

FTFY
FTFY? This is stupid, I am paying THEM for a service, and how dumb is it that I have to train a month long skill every time I log off? I had a 9 hour skill which I wanted done, thats why I picked it, now I will lose more time.
At the very least allow us to change our skills online even if the server is down.

My life doesn't revolve around this game! You people are sad nerds!

If you logged into eve in the past week you should have seen that news item. Its called 'player news' for a reason, its 'news' that 'players' should read.
I know, its crazy mad CCP logic, but just maybe its for players to read. --

There has been an Official Patch Deployment Thread in the Eve Information Portal for four days.
The Community Team will always give as much notice as possible and a four day warning was given in this case.
Your post is nothing more than a rant as CCP has given fair warning.
Locked.

Again you dont know me or my situation, you know what they say about assume. I cant believe how hard you fanbois are defending an obviously stupid broken system.
I play more than 1 day, I play a good amount but happened to miss the pre patch news. Point is there has to be a solution for things like this.
Dont see why they cant make it so you can log in on a website to change the skills while the server is down.

Don't like the service they provide? Cancel your subscription... Whining on here will only get you mocked by everyone.
People who take time to plan out skills get rewarded with more SP over a period of time, skill queues will just dumb it down and give the unorganized people the same benefit as everyone else, not to mention making character farming easier for people.
I really can't tell you if i have a skill running right now, it was still going last night and it either finishes today or tomorrow, do i care if i miss out a few hours training? not really no
