good and evil are there to bring emotions to what others would call a 'job', imagine how boring it'd be without emotions.

I dare say that things would be quite grim indeed dear friend.
But what do you mean about "job" Do some people see EvE as a second (or replacement for) a job? Let us discuss the mentality that may lead one down such a frightfull path.

I am not sure what you mean friend, but please do not derail my topic. For i wish to open up a heartfelt channel to the community on a basic morality and in-game life issue.

There is no good or evil there is only balance, in this case a balance of terror, once upset the remaining dominant entity will have to grow the goatie befitting Great Satan.

While i respect your ability to post on this topic, I must express discourse at the use of "Great" satan. For he is surely not great.

Oh get over yourself, check a dictionary and keep up with the not so current events since -89. That should give you a clue as to what I'm referring to.

I do not respect the harsh tone of your words. I come to this forum a friend bearing good will and you spit at me so.

Edited by: Gloomy Gus on 19/12/2007 16:18:32 Whilst many have taken issue with past Fleet missives, I believe that it is important to reflect on the issues contained herein. The original poster has brought some very relevant talking points to the table, and I feel that we have a responsibility to respond in kind.

I answered your question, simply and directly. I shall now expound further on my answer to your question.
Speaking as a person who has been known as somewhat "meta" (which means metagamer, since you groons are known to be somewhat slow, according to goon propaganda as I have read it here on these forums in the past) I made a conscious decision to perform such feats, often to the detriment of many things in my personal life. I took a nice break, got things sorted, and came back refreshed.
As a hypothetical example, a player finding one of his cats in their backyard in a skeletal state may be a clue that Eve has overtaken their life in such a way that they are more concerned with the game than with taking care of their other responsibilities.
People have also been known to set alarm clocks to awaken simply to shoot POS towers, and if things take too long, they have been known to call in sick to work, miss classes, and ignore their families and friends. This is also evidenced by mountains of Mountain Dew cans around their computer area, and empty potato chip wrappers. Much like you see in the goon videos on youtube.
Or people spend inordinate amounts of cash to have many accounts, several of which could potentially be used to insert into other alliances to gather intel for later use. This cash could perhaps better be used to get out of the basement and actually interact with real people in the real world.
So there you have it. Not all of my thoughts, just a few to assist in keeping your discussion going.
Just a hint, I fear you picked the wrong person to accuse of derailing your insightful topic. I find it wonderful, and support you fully.

Furthermore,
Not to be so unkind as to call undue attention to the blunders of a fellow pilot, but while you hinted at further (no pun intended friend!) content with your use of "furthermore" followed by a comma, you left your sentence unfinished. Would you care to elaborate in more detail?

I didnt read the whole post so if this was already stated ignore it but...
Good and evil are all relative. I am american some say we are good some say we are evil. I like to think we land somewhere in the middle but when it comes down to it we are both. Not just american all countries, ethnic groups, religions.
We are all the yin and yang which makes us human, in the most evil human there is the capacity for great good, and vice versa. Our strength lies in our diversity.
