I had not played eve for a couple months, while I was training up my character. Logged in the other day to adjust my character and get it all set up and stuff. Do some errands. Rat a little bit. Do stuff, you know.
I needed a skillbook, and i needed to upgrade my clone, so i headed towards the nearest cloning facility instead of just jump cloning to empire... (the skillbook was for sale too)
On my way up (12 jumps away) I pass system after system of friendly corps... then im distracted and have to leave the room because of my family... gone for about a minute... sitting by a gate... in a shuttle... in .0
Lost 90k sp (2 days of training, so really.. 4 days of potential training time) 80mil in implants My clone is bound like 60 jumps from my .0 home, with no clone to jump back to, so its going to take me half a day to get back home.
Now every time I log in... I just get angry and quit. I just get filled with anxiety at the thought of the "thing that happened". I cant get over it. its too much to pick up the pieces and move on.
so bye.

you can just move your clone to any station you like and suicide your pod to get back home, now you are free of those troublesome implants :)

It's been moved from GD to OOP. But if you can't find this thread, how did you manage to post on it

Oh it was being moved, i see.
Anyway.
I just posted because I need to release some frustration.
Im not looking for ways I can fix it. I don't want to spend 4 hours putting my character back together.
I'm just totally demoralized.

2 days of training and 80mil is really a very small price to pay. See I only have a 2006 character? well I used to have a 2003 05 char that I sold for much, much less than I should have and a 2004 char that I'm not going to have for much longer, again with me seeing very little.
So you could say I lost 80Mil skillpoints and 10+Billion isk if you really look at it that way, but I don't really care -----

Then again, a break from the game might just be what he's needing.

I just need to vent so bad
It's hard to explain the myriad of ways my character just got owned.
Yeah I can suicide back to the pocket, its not that big of a deal --- but in doing so I have still lost one of my JC's, and im going to have to go make the trip to set up a new one in the spot where I need it.
Blah blah. What I mean to say is
Yes, everything is fixable.
But holy crap, I'm so demoralized right now it's like jeeeeeeez.
I just did most noob thing I've ever done in my life as a gamer, and mentally it's like the only thing I can think to do is quit video games and join a pool league... or, maybe something more befitting my status as a complete idiot... some kind of knitting club or something...soofdigodfig

You care too much. It's just a videogame.

I've felt that way a few times.
Recently I was podded for the first and only time and I lost my implants too (nowhere near 80mil worth) and I'm still trying to play catchup but oh well thats life. Luckily all they got was my salvage ship as it's also my go-getter ship.
The other day I hit up a L4 mission that I didn't know anything about and lost my second raven due to Operator error and while I got another built and ready to go I haven't been in game since that time as I'm just breaking from the stupid factor on my part.
It's kinda like when your playing a game for hours on out and forget to save it and your character dies.
All in all though it's just a game and life goes on.

1)get some beer, relax. 2)move your char 5 jumps.
rinse repeat untill you are back

Long before I worked for CCP: I lost my first Raven, in fact the first battleship I ever owned. I docked my pod, got my can contents traded to me by my corpmate and then logged off. Didn't log back in for a month and a half I was so ****ed off at my own stupidity. Lost something in the region of 200 million isk in equipment and hold contents. Five weeks later I logged on, boarded the Ibis I got given by my friendly insurance company, threw the lump of trit into the trash and started over. It was a long slog and I was jumpy as hell, but in the end everything worked out and I was able to become a productive member of the EVErse again. But yeah, that sinking, gut wrenching feeling you get when something goes spectacularly, horribly, disastrously wrong is almost overwhelming.
Take a break, then try again. It'll be worth it in the long run...

Remember, losing implants isn't losing ISK. Its losing training time. Its only losing ISK if you insist on replacing them.

Wow, really, WoW - Go play it. Thats not a flame, but this is really part of the atraction of Eve game mechanics for me; you can loose and you can recover if you have the will.
So you lost two days training? You've probably lost more in bad training planing. So you lost 80mil of implants (in lawless space... you were going to loose them eventually)? Go chain some rats for a few hours. You've hardly lost anything at all. Taking this into account the experience you've gained is worth far more than the loss; 'Don't sit in a shuttle at a gate in 0.0 unless you want to die' .
El
P.S. If you have access to a cloning facitly in 0.0, why not set the location of your new medical clone to there and kill your current clone? Its the way people used to move fast before jump clones.

Surely, you must have expected at some point that any implants you have would be lost in 0.0. |

I don't fly an implant clone in 0.0 as a rule.
[insert weak ass excuse here] I've been really sloppy recently because I haven't been playing --- I just log in every month or two and rat a bit, and go back to afk training. And yes I know I can suicide back home.
For whatever reason... two months ago i just got lazy and loaded my 0.0 clone up with implants... and because of some pvp'ing going on elsewhere, I had bound my clone many regions away. Seeing my pod sitting in a station and realizing what had happened was OMG WALLS CLOSING IN ON ME fo sho.
Im just venting because of how easily I could have avoided it, and the extent of the damages from such a stupid mistake.
Learning lesson. I'll come back to eve later. Sorry for being all excitable and sad face.
