I played eve for a few months about 2 years back... So I guess I can't recall the graphics because they seems pretty much the same now post Trinity. Are there websites where I can see the comparison?
Also, what are the differences with standard and premium graphics in Trinity?
Thanks,

The new graphics are downloaded in a separate process. You've installed the Trinity patch, which contains all the bugfixes and whatnot. Now comes the "Premium concent".
To do this, hit ESCAPE, click on the Graphics tab, and on the far right, will be a section for the premium content. The game will tell you if you meet the requirements for such content (most crucial one being a graphics card capable of rendering Shader Model 3). If your computer meets the requirements, you will be able to download the premium content. This will take a few hours.

Not exactly.. You can d/l either the standard graphics package or the premium graphics package - both are available as a full download to anyone.
If you d/l the premium graphics package and your machine is not up to the task (as in my laptop) it simply reverts to standard graphics, but if it can support them (as in my desktop) it will run them.
But my question is more, what are the difference? I have seem both (laptop vs desktop) and I can't tell exactly. Granted the premium looks better, but how/why is it better?
Thanks,

Newer, better graphics engine (DX9 instead of DX8) Everything got new models except for the latest ships which already had spiffy models to begin with. (and even those got the newer textures) Stations, stargates, everything. Lighting and shadow effects are in and look great.
Not many effects were updated with Trinity 1, but will be handled with Trinity 2.

the stations have 40,000 polys instead of 4000
everything has 5 textures on it instead of one and it's double the rez.
the ships reflect the nebula.
it's very easy to see the difference.
check out the trailer it shows 3 ships before and after.
and please don't be expecting one player game type graphics, but eve is now quite betyter looking than EVERY other mmorpg out there.
