Well it seems Tri has been war dec'd again by some a mercenary corp making this their 7th active war right now and 9th war in a matter of 2 weeks. My question is what is the point of war decing them, if you wish to fight them you only need to go to their homes in the north or south. So what would be the reasons to paying substantial amounts of isk for relatively limited amounts of kills. After kb searching i think Trinity Nova only managed maybe 15 kills and lost about 10 ships. All that for 100M Isk?

Some people with haulers and freighters somehow assume they're safe in Empire, even with a war dec. Many of these people wouldn't dream of flying an unscouted hauler through 0.0.

Sadly, empire wars are entirely trivial for a '0.0 entity' to avoid. Unless they're _looking_ for fights of course.

Most 0.0 organizations have NPC corp freighter alts at corporate level and members have NPC corp hauler alts (it takes approx 2h of training to get one into reasonable hauler starting from out of the box char) so I doubt that empire war will hinder any 0.0 entity thats somewhat organized.
It does prevent their main characters flying to local trade hubs but overall empire war is just minor annoyance for 0.0 entities. If organization has heavy empire population wardeccing them might make possible to prey on them to the extent.
Altho no doubt it does actually make their logisticks also slightly harder.

Heh, seems like a bad idea.
It's a bad idea because Tri will just be sensible and use logistics alts, or logistics contractors like myself.
It's a really bad idea because all of Tri's combat ships will nanof4g away from the gate before you even see them on overview.. :D - modules_and_muntions spammer free trade channel! |

Tri seem like a decent bunch of dudes who've got their act together. I know that my organisation at least lets out little shouts of joy whenever there's an incoming wardec - yay, free targets!
Doubt it's any different for Tri.

To be honest, I think TRI wardec themselves to convince their laggards and nere-do-wells to get out to the front in 0.0 and join the fighting gangs rather than carebearing around in Jita.

I think people War deccing Tri have been pretty sensible, remember alt 4 of the 7 wars were actually initiated by us. Mainly to stop a safe haven in low sec pipes around the 0.0 area's but that's neither here nor there to be honest.
Trinity Nova are a good bunch as a former member I know what they are capable of and predicted them to do well and they didn't do to bad at all. (They had 56 kills and 29 losses actually)
I bet they earned more isk off them 56 kills than they would off many alliances where they could rack up 300+ kills.
We relish opportunity of targets whether in 0.0 or 1.0 it matters not, TNT were unlucky that their contract (yes they were paid to do it) coincided with Tri's first system siege so they never had many targets except the odd roamer. Only on the last 1-2 days they had an opportunity to kill us and then they had to watch out for our larger gang who may have been looking for a larger CVA gang.
Empire wars are a part of eve and if it's worth it or is in the choice of the war deccing/client corp.
We do not have much empire coverage generally but we have some all the same. ----------

Tri appear to be a bunch of guys who fly and fight well together and who enjoy a good scrap.
They don't want to take your space, they don't want you to pay them rent, they aren't out to kill you because you dare to play the game in a way that's different to the one you've chosen.
Just good pewpew.
Sounds good to me and a lot less batty than some of the people flying around our pixelated universe...
They come after you, shoot 'em. Be shot back. Buggers podded me a few days back.

Either no one wants to come fight or they hug their stations alot that they don't want to play with TRI. So hard to find targets these days and when they do come, they run away from us.

The point of declaring war on TRI is that we were paid to. The purpose of said contract was to be empire based and therefore a Concord sanctioned war was needed.
I am sure the numbers would have been higher on either side however our war coincided with TRI moving a lot of assets to the deeper south to engage CVA and this meant we spent a lot of time hunting the marks down.
The fights we did get vs TRI were all decent engagements and only the very first fight proved frustrating when a substantial element of pirates engaged our force simultaneously with the TRI gang and there was one of those goon patented WelpÖ moments.
In this instance we were very clear on what the client wanted out of the contract so we were less concerned with the stats as just the amount of Isk destroyed in ratio to the Isk paid.
Result was:
The client was happy. We got to try some unusual fleet choices (the less said about a certain stealth bomber engagement the better)
A full report will follow in a few days after the xmas period but all in all it was a good contract, was fun fighting TRI and a successful job. It also helped us sharpen up a bit after some long R&R time following our last contract as part of KIA
