Yeah, yeah, it's sweet and all. But killing ratters is your meat and potatoes unless you fund PvP by other activities. One of the reasons I'm not so hot on expensive ships is that, well, like all other ships, they die - and if you solo a lot they die a lot more often, meaning you're hard pressed to replace them off loot/ransoms.
I do see the cap injected Curse used much more often and to better effect then the Pilgrim, though.
I never said there's something wrong with looking at efficiency, or that Pilgrim would've been a better choice than Curse, etc.
Reason to my post was to give a perspective to all the people here bashing on kill/death ratio. Generally I agree that a poor K/D is bad (isk-wise), but doesn't mean the pilot is bad or used the Pilgrim in a bad fashion. I gave my example/personal experience. So far I have lost 0 pilgrims and I have downed quite a bunch of battleships, but I could've lost my Pilgrim in every single one of those fights, which would've reflected totally different on the killboard.
I don't use PvP to fund my PvP. And I never mined nor manufactured in my whole EVE career. Ratting inbetween PvP and/or browsing market at the same time is profitable. I got 3415sp in trade and around 25mil in combat beneficial stats. Still I'd say almost all my income comes from the market. And most of my PvP kills comes from hostile space. ;)
Maybe I played this game too long, but when I started everyone expected to lose their ship in PvP and I tend to find it extremely boring to always be on top. Blobs, speed, stealth, ecm, it's all dull. Doesn't make it bad pvp.. and it's quite possible other people enjoy it. Pilgrim is in my eyes an excellent ship to get the thrill of PvP from years ago.
As I said, perspective.

The pilgrim once it engages must engage 100%. It is always with web range. It is always within scram range. Therefore if you attack and back up for your target(s) arrive then there's very little chance of escape.
Kinda this. Might also add that pilgrim's target selection is very limited, you can't disengage and a decent pilot will make up for a difficult fight even if he's flying quite a cheap ship(tier1 BC anyone?)

Not necessarily. I fly BCs and my prey tends to agress me first.. that pretty much excludes ratters from a list(apart from an odd hulk/hac ratting heh). In a 3 months flying BCs mostly solo I've come from 100mil iskies to nearly a 4bil mark.. with just pvp. So it's not hard, really

Holy crap! I had no idea Battle clinic had such good records. I mean, seriously, it has *all* of my losses and most of my kills.

Wow. Off the top of my head it is missing my last 5 kills, but still, that is amazing.

And how many of those kills were made during a fairly matched fight? Just because you join a fight against 30 people in your gang with 60 friends and you manage to shoot each of them with one projectile from your artillery cannons , before they pop, doesn't make you a good pvper.
The fact that you brag about it and think you can criticise other people just makes you an annoying person tbh.
Go in the game before posting. You really know nothing about me.
I'm actually a very good FC/gang leader, leading guerilla ops, being outblobbed 4:1 and getting kills out of it most of the time.
Also that huginn cost about 800m. Really nice of you to assume I just blob, when like 1/4 of those kills were made solo, and the rest in a gang of 2-3.
Learn to play eve noob, if you don't know how to kill **** in the game, that doesn't mean everyone else is as stupid as you are.

2 kills to each loss is bad?
It's bad because you are losing more isk than you are making from pvp...
What? I'm sorry but losing 1 ship every two kills is great!..
It isn't.
Or, better, it is only under very specific situations. Namely:
- You are *only* operating solo.
To put it into extremes, it is a lot easier (and less risky & workintensive) to get 50 kills while being in a 100 people fleet (at leastbif your ship locks fast) than getting them solo.
- You are using a ship which has the average value (or less than it) of the ships you killed.
There is a difference between a BS killing 2 cruisers before it goes boom and a frigate killing 2 cruisers before it goes boom.

lol @ you if you don't know why I mix 2 neuts and a NOS. Not exactly rocket science.
edit: oh yea, 141 solo kills, 191 total kills. I mainly operate solo, hence my K/D rate. But I do have a 3/1 damage in isk ratio (done / taken)

What about a Force recon killing a Combat recon before dying to his 12 man gang?
your setup is a joke and despite your nonstop crying about how gimped the pilgrim is you still don't understand why nos undermines your neutralizers ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

Do you play Eve-Online?
Have you ever flown a Pilgrim?
Have you ever solo'd in a Pilgrim?
=================================
Ok smartass, lemme put it to you like this:
1) Engaging a passive tank setup 2) When I run out of cap boosters 3) Engaging 2 or more targets 4) Ratting when bored
Just to name a few scenarios.

Yes, you know nothing about Ryysa, he uses overpowered (yet, admittedly, expensive) ships to kill people unfairly, not blobs! How dare you. --- Proud Amarr pilot.

Actually, define "unfair".
Is fighting outnumbered all the time, and getting some kills, then getting out at the right time unfair?
Uh no, wait, it's called pilot skill. Something forum pvpers do not know about, since clearly, it's only about ship a beating ship b under any circumstances.
Either way, gl coming up with a 705:1 k:l ratio, EVEN IF you fight only "unfairly". No idea why I even bother.

Ok, your set-up is great with that faction gear. But replace that with T2 and you will find my fit a much better pilgrim.
High 2 x Neuts 1 x Cloak 1 x Offline Recon Prober
Mids 1 x Warp Disruptor 1 x 90% Web 1 x Medium Injector 2 x TD's
Lows 1 x MAR II 1 x EANM II 1 x DCU II 1 x Thermic Membrane II 1 x 1600mm Plate
Rigs 2 x Trimark Armor Pumps.
(All t2 or best named mods)
11.2k Armor HP without implants, with nice resists and a MAR II
Can run neuts tackle and repper as long as the 400 charges last
