Edited by: Fouldin on 27/12/2007 10:36:06 yesterday i checked some belts in a 1.0 system as i was damn bored. i found a lonesome hauler, hauling his 3 cans which he filled up the last hours i bet. the dude was less then 2 month old.
"why not" i think and flip the 3 cans (me in a shuttle). the amarr hauler attacks me with his one and only pulsa laser fitted. time to get a attack ship, so i dock, switch to thorax and back to the belt. he was gone too, but as i was still bored i waited. and there he is, came back in a arbitrator, which poped really fast.
Funny part 1: shall i loot his wreck? hmm.. a noob, 6 or 7 weeks old, how much stuff can he have in there? oh hell, lets take a look and be surprised: 60m in items dropped, 20m got destroyed WTF? i think "yeah, well, maybe... if he played a lot, that could be". i looted the juicy wreck and docked.
Funny part 2: about 30min later, still bored, i think to myself "maybe he is there again? mabe he didnt learn from his mistakes?" and warp to that belt again. and what i see? a geddon wreck, named by the dude i poped, and lots of concord mates. -> the dude wanted revenge, fitted a geddon, came back to the belt, very angry at me. at that time he forgot that the timer was no more and shot my flipped can -> CONCORDOKKEN!
what you see is a damn lucky and amused Fouldin, approaching the bs wreck. and what do i get this time? 30m in dropped items, 40m destroyed, WTF? again. now i'm sure that dude bought some isk, no way that a less then 2 month noob can earn enough to get modules for 150m+ and a BS.

I dunno, A smart guy can make alot of money fast doing trades. buying low and selling high requires nothing more than a good head on ur shoulders. Still though, if he could make that much money trading, he probably wouldnt be mining. So on second thoughts, ur probably right.

So, because you weren't clever enough to have 150m ISK when you were that old this guy must be cheated?
When you are tired from real pvp and looking to relax you flip cans. When this guy is tired and has finished all his trade runs perhaps he mines ore?

sure that you can make that through trading, when you start with 5k isk? i'm not sure on how much is the start isk, but around 5k i think.
no offense, my point is not that he maybe or maybe not cheated, the happening made me laugh the whole day, thats it ;)

I dunno, I was doing lvl 3s at that age. Though it's a bit uncommon, it's far from impossible for a player that young to have that kind of cash.

I can confirm, started my 3rd month playing.
3 MIL sp today YaY!
I have lost, 6 myrd each worth 100 mil after fitting, i have 505 mil isk in my wallet, and about 200 isk in asset, + if he runs mission and turns his LP into ISK this is even easier, i got 100k LP sitting doing nothing.
But back on topic grats on the kill

I've ran into a ton of newbies who have no second thoughts about dropping $100 or so on GTC's and don't think they've bought isk, or done anything that's cheating like.
Now, I'm not saying buying and GTC's is wrong, I'm just saying, it IS cheating, albeit legalized. But maybe I'm just from the school that you do things yourself and you don't go through loopholes and such to get ahead. I talked to one guy who was about 3 weeks old and was putting together a battleship and wanted help on picking the best T1 named items to put on there, and asking which officer modules were the best to get. He also had remarked on the substantial amount of GTC's he had sold... The number was over 10, that's all I can remember. Sadly, I was not able to coax him down to low sec with me, as he eventually rerolled and biomassed his first character. I just hope he took the pimped BS with him...
So to the OP... ^^ That. :) grats on the loot!

If he was concorded.. how did you know what was destroyed? or has the new killmail system changed so much that even when you are not involved in a kill you get the mail?

Lol so basically you're saying because you suck at making isk, anyone else that has some uses RMT. I made a new trading alt recently, gave him 15m from my main (the equivalent of a few days work from the tutorial either missioning or npc goods trading) and he had 250m within a couple of weeks.
Funny part: you make a post about an "ebay noob" but instead make yourself look like an idiot that can't make any isk and is instead can flipping 2 month old "noobs" that are probably richer and a lot more successful in game than you...

I'm less then 2 months old, and 200m is and was very achievable. Making and losing money in this game is very easy, and you don't need Ebay to help. With that said, attacking your can without a timer is really stupid.

Back when I started we didn't get 800k SP for just creating a face.
Within a month i'd still managed to buy a set of +4 implants costing around 200m (everything was expensive)
But there is no proof he is a newbie, it might have been an alt with a sugar daddy main feeding it isk. Lack of hi-sec aggro knowledge is common amongst players who focus soley on one aspect of the game.
I suppose this must be my sig. I'll do something cool with it eventually. |

Yes, because someone that knows a better way to make isk would prefer to mine in high sec.

Apparently some people here dont understand what is going on.
He is a noob and he had no idea of what he was fitting and if he did have a main, then he would have known a lot more about what he was doing... unless hes a really old noob

You can make lots of isk can flipping actually, but I digress.
This guy was either a e-bay noob, or just not experienced. Either way he's a noob to me, and I congratulate the OP on his profitable enterprise!
And to those boasting about exploits in trading, etc, please go to the trading forums, as you are gutless weinies, unworthy to criticize a pirate in the making.

When i first started i had 550m in my wallet after 1 month of playing the game. That was almost 2 years ago, and ISK was harder to make. Yeah, surely he must be a ebay-er, truly impossible to make isk in this game. :)

Don't be stupid. Flipping the can is a reason, for them to attack you. You get flagged to their entire corp and sometimes they came in big numbers, providing one awesome fight. Just because you met or were abused by can flippers that were fighting just barges, or you tried can flipping and you only killed barges, doesn't mean that it applies to everybody.

Who cares if he used ebay, or GTC's, or the sweat of his little nubbin brow. The lesson here for new players is that it doesn't matter one bit how much isk you spend on modules and ships if you don't have the SP to operate them properly.
God bless the little morons. A 2 month old needs a Geddon about as much as this Caldari missle slinger needs an Archon.
