Edited by: Echthalian on 27/12/2007 23:29:19 After trying it out for myself...I will stop and just sell the datacores.
20 attempts, all failed. lvl 4 skills, tried all descriptor types. (frigs and cruisers)
After spending well over 1 billion + hours of exploration, how can one make there ISK back if they do nothing but fail? Even if it has low chance it sill has to be good enough to make your investment back. Now you (CPP) change exploration I will never get investment back. Granted it will become cheaper in the coming weeks to invent, but still, ships NEED A HIGH chance rate!
Good job CPP...why don't you delete some more boot.ini files (unforgivable mistake), but not mine. TEST YOUR PRODUCT!

Well, I had some invention tries work. But I must say the resulting BPC's (ships in this case) don't really end up as moneymakers on the market, when the ships are built. It's about like building T1 battleships. I.e., might as well rat, mine, or run missions if you really want to make some isk.
Building in Eve remains a conundrum. Nothing is really custom or personalized at the construction phase. I consider that a "too bad," as there was always quite a bit of fun factor in getting a unique product from a given builder/vendor in the old days of UO, for example.

FYI- I did not get into invention to make ISK. I found it fun. BUT I also did not get into invention to loose over 300 million in fail attempts.
and to think I wanted to invent a new jump freighter. How many billions will I have to waist to get a 1 run BPC?

The name's a misnomer. Even when successful you are not really "inventing" anything. Reverse-engineering a settled design at best.
Anyhow, take a deep breath and relax. "Invention" is working well enough to get cheap(er) ships on the market, even though there's always something to complain about.
Later.
