Hi,
I have been looking into setups for my caracal to take on a fleet/support, I was looking at the ship fitting section...how on earth are they fitting 2x Large shield Extender II's???
I currently have:
High: All T2 Heavy Missle Launcher x5
Mid slot: please help
Low: BCII x2
What am I doing wrong I have quite decent skills too? Every time i try to fit a Large Shield Extender II it says Insufficient Power!
My carcal in ship fitting says it has 662.50 pg?

I was like "I know you can do that without implants!"
And then I realized it was a PvP setup and that Arbalest launchers were not a good idea. I opened EFT, and dabbled in dark twisted setups before unearthing the only way to fit 2 x LSE and T2 launchers on a Caracal. Behold this arcane beast of a ship.

Just spontaneously slapped it together in EFT, bit lazy. Figured scourge was pretty much a given anyway, but I'll change it. >_>

forget about the em resist, use a sensor booster. maybe drop launchers to limos T1 and fit a balistic controle for more damage, if they chose to single u out ur going down anyway if not then ur doing more damage.

In a fleet situation, you're probably not that likely to be primary'd, so I would fit more for damage than defense.

yeah, in a fleet, dont tanka caracal, go 5 heavies, bcu`s, use midslots for locking and target painting,,to help your friends out,,,sens dampners works wonders as well...hell even 4 multi jammers on a caracal is great

Dont bother tanking out a caracal in fleet ops. They are cheap and very flexible with the number of mid slots available to them. You want to use them as a cheap harassment or anti-support tool not a pwnmobile. Otherwise you would be flying a HAC.
Anti-support Highs: 5 T1 Heavy Assault launchers (terror kinetic)
Mids: 1 10mn MWD 1 warp distruptor 2 webbers 1 extra slot- med sb to take care of any ceptor damage, ecm for use against ceptors/ECM frigs/assault frigs, or a sensor booster with resolution scripts to lock small fast ships
Lows: 1 Reactor control 1 1 Ballistic control 1
Results are a super cheap all T1 cruiser that can catch and hold ceptors or even vagas. Can dish out 150+ raw dps based on skills, and can move around easily.
For Long Range
5 Heavy Launcher II's (scourge t1)
10mn afterburner 2 target painters 1 med shield booster 1 invul field
2 ballistic controls
This is more expensive due to the T2 launchers. It still gives you 100km+ range depending on skills and decent dps. This allows you to engage sniper defense ships at range causing them to use cap to repair or driving them off of their station. A constant slow moving barrage of scourge wont kill a Rapier but it will make them work harder. You also have the option to load precision or fury ammo giving you more flexibility but dropping your range by 1/2.

For gods sake, even when doing such a stupid thing as actively tanking a t1 cruiser, do at least not fit medium or small shield boosters. -
