Is that picture genuine? The owner claims it is his titan from the original EVE betas.
They say that they had far fewer HPs then and looked a bit different, and that a dev spawned it for them...
So, lies and deceit, or honest truth? ^^

There were "capital" class ships before RMR. None playable, but they were definitely in the game. I don't recognize that particular model, but I do distinctly remember a Minmatar 'City ship' and the Titan that the Serpentis stole. Both were "capital" class models.

But their implementation was planned before that, and did appear before that. The Gallente Solteur was involved in an event, which was before RMR.

Titans as a entry in the EVE database have existed for quite some time according to the Art of EVE Book, but started out as capital-class equivalents of battleships. When they were re-designed for their introduction in Red Moon Rising they were given new models as well.

Bunk.
There's icons for gate guns on the UI.
The abbreviations for the various items (STRUC, CAPAC) don't look right to me.
Finally, depending on the stage of Beta we're talking about here, that Autopilot button doesn't look right either. It used to be a command line instruction at one point.

It's the original Gallente Titan, and the model that was stolen in that big Serpentis event. The other races had Titan models before as well, and all looked pretty bad (though the Amarr one looks surprisingly similar to the one they have now, just less awesome). The only one I never saw an actual screenshot of was the Caldari one, although there is a picture on this website that claimed it was a Caldari Titan. Didn't look all that great.

I remember something similar which I saw in the beta test. But I really doubt the devs spawned one for anyone, those news would have travelled fast through the betatest world. I think it was that ship I shot at on my first day of beta test. I saw something really big and decided to attack it with my Ibis of utter doom, then something happened and I was in my pod.

The Amarr titan looked very little like its modern counterpart if I remember correctly.

I remember the original Mini titan befor the ragnarok, it looked liked a giant pipe cleaner! i have a picture of it somewhere on my home comp, il dig it out

Its 12.45 it was just at uptime I moved about, it was also pre EveMon so you never knew when it was going to be accessable(read up) again.
it was a buzy place back then too.. just not as many as it is today Id imagine, I rarly go there nowerdays.

That's indeed a genuine pic. There was also a minmatar titan looking totally different from what we know as the ragnarok now.
This Titan (Soliteur) had a 8/8/ slot lay out if i recall it right and it only had the armor of a battleship i think. It was nothing but a placeholder and something Devs played around with.
The on piloted by a player was handed to him by a dev for being a good bughunter i believe.

and yeah its a solteur, there was a 2nd one too, leviathan, but it was a minnie titan...dont quite look like the current one though
