Fantastic missioning ship for level 1 and 2 missions. Seriously. Pop, pop, pop. If you want to get standing up or something like that, great. Secondly, great for other people in your corp if you want to run level 4s with them, get rid of the pesky frigs and destroyers.
PVP wise, not alot. A big group of them is okay as they are maneuverable little ships and have a slightly better tank then a ceptor, however, they can't get anywhere near as fast. Harpy is a good little camping ship (not solo, obviously) and I'm partial to groups of enyos getting in close to things, but the fact of the matter is, they just aren't going to last that long.
Not fast enough to speed tank, not tough enough to really heavy tank. They're kind of in the middle.

Used to fly em all the time in empire, not so much now as a -5 in low sec.
They make a great tackler is situations where an inty isn't heavy enough or a cruiser is to slow. Flew alot paired with BS/CSs. Should be better now days with Nos not such and issue. Then again, with the low tier ceptors getting the disruptor range bonus, it probably just comes down to pilot preference. I always thought I got more out of my AF's for the price then I would have from a ceptor.

For PvP I prefer to use cruisers or interceptors unless AFs get their bonuses fixed. But they are decent cheap ships for PvE, fast enough to avoid some fire, tough enough to tank some and they can be very damaging for their size.
They're also fun for the frig FFA on SiSi, especially the Retribution. ---------------------------

Go to a cosmos area and you will see plenty of assault frigs. I use a Hawk to tank the lower level complexes and hack the boxs or as a secondary hacker/looter for the omgwtfinstapwnu dps cosmos plexs from hell as the tanker draws the aggro.

Edited by: Siigari Kitawa on 09/01/2008 03:15:03 Assault frigs can easily do the following things:
1) Make short work of level 1 and level 2 complexes/missions
2) Rat in 0.0
3) Belt hunt and take down frigs OR battleships with ease (and proper training).. with a tracking disruptor and a bit of luck, medium sized ships
4) Plow through enemy gatecamps with nanos and afterburner (though now it's a lot harder to activate your afterburner when cloaked)
5) The Ishkur and Enyo can be used to assist in probing certain "areas" of other ships ;) _________________ Burn. |

This list sums up a good number of things. Ishkurs also used to make excellent pirating ships, but I don't know how they are these days. Especially after the drone nerf. They can be used quite easily in sansha and guristas missions as well. Fit an afterburner+tank and make sure it can permarun both. Then draw aggro, get far enough out that you aren't dying, and send out your drones.

I flew the Enyo on and off for months before using any other assault frig. Now I've got both Gallente and both Minmatar AF classes in my main hangar. They're ALL the best possible PvE systems that utilize small weapons. They're also good at killing T1 frigs, destroyers, many cruisers, and other assault frigs in small gang or solo PvP.

You can use an Ishkur to run a lot of level 4 missions, though the battleship-heavy ones take a long time. It's a stingy way to get the job done, so the value is high; use it to make money while you train for something more powerful.

They can be a lot of fun to fly in missions and if you get a good number together (especailly some of the better ones like the Wolf) you can frig swarm BS's and other things in Low Sec that think they are invincible because they have a big new ship . +++++++++++++++ I saw the Sign...!
