I thought I knew how it was done. (Leaving out some details) Corp A player invites, corp B player. Then Corp A player invites his "friends", I just don't know where to go from there. How do you get the "friends" to shoot at corp b player. (I know about the war) Who needs to shoot first etc... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am bored so I will explain how I believe it works, never tried it though.
Player A - Target
Player B is not at war with anyone, Player C is at war with Player D, Player B forms gang with Player A, Player A recieves no "Dodgy Canidate" warning. Player B then Invites Player C to the gang, this now allows for Player D to engage any member of that gang.
Trinity variant would be to have a Player E in same corp as Player D in a falcon with racials at the engagement.
As I think about it I believe that any of the other members of the gang players B and C could remote rep Player D.
So you will need a bare Min of 2 accounts to do this yourself(player C and Player D) with 1 trial that you keep recycling(player B).
I ofc could be completely wrong.

Um i think it only needs 2... player A - target
player b is at war with player c and thus makes a gang with player a, player B then invites player c which is now able 2 shoot at player a, (Lofty would be c and his alt would be b) :O

Linkage
That should help
Lofty sits at a safe, has an alt gang with a missioner to "mission together," gangwarps them to the safe and gangs a second alt who is a war target to Lofty at the same time. Missioner lands at the safe, flagged as a war target to Lofty. Lofty proceeds to violence them a little bit, then attempt a ransom, as missioners often put a lot of effort into their missioning ships.

If you tried to do it that way it would notify the Target that they are joining a Fleet with a dodgy member etc etc. Thats why you need 3 so that someone who is not involved in a war makes the gang(alt #1), after target is in gang they then invite a 3rd gang member (alt #2 w/e) who is at war with the 4th player (alt #3 + your friends in this corp, falcon alts etc etc).
That is the only way I am aware of that you can fool people into thinking it is ok to gang with you, not factoring in the required week or so w/e of social engineering to get the target to fly his faction ship with you.

So you need a total of 3 accounts for this scam then? lol. One to bait the target. One for the bait to invite to gang. (The guy invited is at war with the third one.) Does the third one ever get invited to the gang? -------------------

I fell victim to this once, and it is done exactly as described here. _____________________________________________________________________________

I believe the most important part is who is the leader of the gang, if you were leader (pilot "A" the victim) you would receive the warning as other joined.
By accepting the invite you the victim, are not notified of any other gang memberĘs status.
You do see often, you join my gang because I got leadership/mining bonus, many will do so thinking they are getting a boost.

No reason to invite "player D" to the gang, you want him out of gang so that everyone in gang is a valid target. You dont HAVE to have 3 account, only 2 paying and 1 trial that you recycle etc. Alternatively you can just have friends help you but this is much like gatecamping the more there are the less you make.

Edited by: Mahai Ano on 13/01/2008 16:28:50 Noob question here, what if the target leaves the fleet when he warps in (during warp)? Do the flags stay for x time or reset if target leaves a fleet?

2 accounts works fine most of the time, as people just ignore the warning message.

Ah, I get what I did wrong. We had A invite target to gang. Gang warp, and then A invited B to gang. (A and B are at war.) This did not work. So the trick is to have A invite C to gang. C is at war with B. Since C is in the gang, all the gang members will be valid targets to B. Got it. -------------------
