I want to transport a battleship from Jita to Amarr.
Rather than repackaging the ship and putting it in a courier contract. oops, the ship is 50,000m3 repacked. Who is going to be able to transport this besides freighter pilots?
Why can't we just have a courier mission where the whole ship is put on contract fully assembled, with mods in place. Locked so that they cannot be taken off and replaced with something else. And then the guy who runs the mission just accepts the courier, gets into the ship, flies it down to Amarr. Jumps out of the ship, and completes the mission.

Wow, that's a great idea.
The pilot would assuming need the skill to fly that ship, but yeah. I like that!

Yep. It would help outlaws immensely , allowing them to hire people to move their stuff to lowsec much easier - some alternative to alt online. [IMAGE REMOVED]

Love the idea tbh
Im having so many probs atm getting a couple of rigged BS into a low sec system, after i got them moved (through high sec) by freighter contract.

Lets think about this.
I have a ship in Jita that I want moved. It may, or may not have any items/rigs in it. In either case, whatever is in place, is locked to where the contactee cannot add or remove modules. Let us also say that I insure/contract an empty ship that I want moved.
The contract will have an obvious collateral and a modest reward.
Contractee gets ganked in hi sec and is out the collateral and I get both the collateral and the insurance.
Then I repeat and thank the pirates for their efforts.

So make it uninsurable while in contract, so you have to set the collatoral to a decent amount to cover yourself.
Sure someone could still gank and do the whole make money by upping the collatoral above the value, but thats the valet's problem... The valet can't insure the ship because its not his property. If its something like a BS it would be a pain to kill in empire with a gank without loosing more than you make, and the valet has the option to check out the destination before commiting. If the contract is "hai can u's move my l33t ship into this 0.4 system" and the system is camped 24 / 7 then walk away.
I like risk in eve so this idea sits well in the "naievety gets you turned over and screwed" ethos.

you don't get insurance when someone flew your ship and got it blow up anyway.

wow can you be any more frikken negative. its no worse than ganking someone who is hauling a shipment of stuff.. which is already in game.
i myself have -3.7 sec. i have the money, and cant be arsed to move my own **** from point A to point B, especially through policed space. i would pay some poor newb to do it instead.. it would be a GREAT way for new-er pilots in eve to make isk. and an even better way to make isk off others while afk... and if you get ganked... you fail. and shouldnt play videos games AFK
i flly support this idea, and wish i could steal the credit for thinking of it :P
on that note

I like this idea.
There needs to be a way to move rigged and fitted ships through high-sec if you're outlaw without metagaming. I happen to have an alt trained to fly my battleships, but this would be a welcome alternative.
Another thing that could happen would be to have ship containers which would hold assembled ships and allow freighters to fly the ship fully assembled and rigged in their cargo. The container would be password protected (password never resets so only a person who knows the password can open it) and able to be set up as a courier contract.
A way to let suicide gankers still profit from ganking with this would be to allow it to be hacked. It would take 'x' amount of time (no way am I going to set the timeframe, I left my flamesuit elsewhere), and set a notification to alert the original owner that it is in space and vulnerable to hacking. The container must not be able to be ejected by the freighter pilot (like in a forcefield), so only destroying the freighter would allow the container to be hacked.
This could be limited by having the containers be fairly large (600k m3 or for a battleship container which can only fit battleships, etc.) and would work like a maintenance bay (no cargo except charges, no cans)

As an alternative, what about introducing tugboats?
