Edited by: Dr Finkelstein on 15/01/2008 13:38:34 Please critique this setup which is aimed at level 4 mission running... possibly vs Angel hence the alround tank. I already have the majority of the parts so money for this project isn't an issue.
Hi: 4x Mega pulse II 2x Small tractor beam 1x Salvager
Med: 3x True Sansha cap recharger 1x Shadow Serpentis tracking computer
Low: 2x Dark blood large armour repairer 1x Centus X-type thermic hardner 1x Centus X-type kinetic hardner 1x Centus X-type explosive hardner 1x Corelum A-type energized adaptive nano membrane 1x True Sansha cap power relay
Rig: 2x Capacitor control circuit II
Drone: 5x Hammerhead II 5x Hobgoblin II
This gives perm running of everything & resistances of EM-74.2, Therm-83.8, kin-83.6 & explo-85, effective HP-77,966. Constructive opinions welcome.

Surely after all the Officer 'unrealistic' fittings, u can use a 'better' armor rep...

Id take off the EANM and CPR and add 2 DB hs, you would do missions sooo much faster and still be able to perma run one wep with the other rep as reserve. Then as lng as you fit 3 specific hards you can perma tank any mission still. If you find you arnt needing the other re with the setup take it off, add yet another HS and put on tachs :D you will go through missions faster than CNRs as long as they arn serp and such.

Which setup type would you go for... which would most likely surviv the hardest level 4 missions solo?

Since you can tank almost every mission in a full t2 Domi- I'm sure either of them will do tbh

I suppose it comes down to: pulse or beams 1 rep or 2

Edited by: Vanlade on 15/01/2008 15:36:28 - Use Beamsor Tachyons - Use two HeatSink - Use a 15km+ Webifier - Only one repairer is enought - Highgrade Slave implant set - Damage / Rof gunnery implants - Tracking Computer is nice

My setup wich survived Enemies Abound 5/5 at marauder 3:
4* TAchyon II with Navy MF, salvage stuff Web, 3* Cap Recharger II DB LAR, Cebtus X Kin hardener, Epl Hadener II, Therm Hardener II, TS EANM, 2* DB HS 2* CCC
Runs cap stable, armor dipped down to 30 % untill I got rid of several Darkanas. Marauder lvl 4 should take care of that. ~ 840 dps from beams alone. Why a web instead of a computer? Tracking is fine enough to hit BS and many cruisers up to 15 km, anything too fast or too close gets ripped apart by the Hammerhead II's and Hobgoblin II's. The web helps with holding fast frigs for Tachyon love.

Since you allready have the x-stuff resists, I tank with one X-type LAR, one A-Type EANM and 2 X-type hardeners. That's really all you need, fill the rest with heatsinks. Get rid of this perma-tank idea, you'll earn a lot more money.

It baffles me that so many ppl (not directly pointing at you here) seem to think they have to choose between pulse or beams instead of just fitting what's most appropiate for the situation.

On most missions, tachyons can use MF or Gamma vs the hostiles. With pulses, you need a TC or radio to reach, with a correspondant reduction in damage. Also, tracking on Tachyons is good enough to kill anything wich the drones can't rip apart fast.
vs Blood or Sansha, I remove hardener, fit a PDU II and put in an Ab to move around faster. I could alternatively remove anotehr hardener, and go 3 HS setup for even quicker carnage.

I was wondering if there is an actual dps differential between tachs and Mega beam II. Just from eyeballing it the damage seems pretty similar and using the Beams fitting is alot easier and I dont have to go to faction Tachs to make it cap stable.
However if Tachs are alot better and I just havnt noticed it could someone please set me straight.
Thanks
