Edited by: ED Grubermann on 19/01/2008 17:32:55 saw this in use today....
people come into your mining belt, and steal 1 of your ores, trying to get you to attack...
if you don't bite, they just start nano bumping your slow ships around so you can't do anything... not even warp away... and that is with a ship that's not aggroed to you, so you cannot shoot at it.
and the best part is, it's considered a legal tactic and well within the game mechanics...
so how do we use this...
we start doing this all over high sec, because then the ore prises will rise, due to people not being able to mine much as they used to do.
pirate the market so to speak...
oh and the best place to do this is the ice fields... get those macro miners good.. If you can't use proper spacing in your posts, use ALT+F4 to make it more readable

Rapier does this great. Just recently I was able to use bowling in order to convince a hulk to target and agress me thus getting concorded.

LOL Yeah I did that in Eygfe when these dfjosfj Macro miners were there. And it was like bowling since 8 of them huddles together around a jetcan. Strike

No its illegal to keep bumping someone in high sec in order to prevent them from warping. The key thing is "keep" bumping. Once or twice you can get away with but continually bumping is greifing and is petionable.

yep.. actually tried to get it escalated... he said that it wasn't necessary...
so according to him it's legal, which gives me a free pass to do to others what they did to me... If you can't use proper spacing in your posts, use ALT+F4 to make it more readable

Bet if its another GM he'll say different again. To be honest I don't see an issue using it on macro miners but the possibility to grief people flying afk or even otherwise is crazy.

lucky bastard... i hear they have some cute gm's over there... :)
and yeah, to active players the grief tactic is just crazy, which is why i'm wondering why the gm thought it ok to use... :)
but hey, such is life, and now i'm going to take it out over others untill they make it a rule that you can't... :)

Just in case those of you lurking didn't catch it the validity of saying GM x said so is just as valid as a mans word on the forum as we can not post gm logs and even if we could text isn't that hard to edit
But seriously my gm did ask me to dinner

Well, they don't. The ships you kill during one will if they are from certain factions, but completion of the mission itself does not affect your sec status.
1. Buy Vexor 2. Fit for Gank 3. Suicide ISK farmer 4. Grind sec 5. see 1. |

Got a Gm telling me that continous bumping combined with ransomattempt to let the "victim" go is indeed legal. As far as I know it is not and I'll try to escalate it to a senior GM.
