One thing i've noticed while playing the game and serving as a diplomat is that alot of times we come across problems regarding deployment such as POS's and the fact that only corporations who own the POS's can use them while only allied corporations can stay inside the shield. The primary way of avoiding this disorganization is to have smaller corps merge into the larger ones so alot more have access to POS's that have been established. However, the current way of merging requires that a corporation disband and have their members individually apply with the corporation to be merged with. This process often leaves members whom are not on as much in the dark and most likely some will be lost in the move. Therefore, it would possibly allow alliances to function in a more organized fashion if there were an option for CEO's and/or directors to engage in corporation mergers that would automatically move the members of one corporation into another, thus fixing the current highly inefficient procedure of which causes many problems for those organizing said merges.
Thank you for your time.

It would be very nice feature, but nightmare to implement. Think about different acsess rights, different corp hangar structure and so on. Would be awesome if POS would also change owner. I would get back into 'main' corp from current alt corp with that empire POS what forces the use of altcorp in first place. There is just no viable way of getting biger corp standings into required levels short of kicking everyone out for a while or getting only 'active mission running players'.

lol im talking about alliances that are in 0.0 that live out of POSs, not singular lab POSs. The problem is that small corporations in 0.0 often have to merge with a larger corporation with a POS or they have to stay in empire(or leave if they feel that strongly), a possible solution is to make it easier for corporations to merge into another by using an automatic option. That way small corps within the Alliance can merge and utilize the POSs and better organize the alliance they belong to.

I think the easiest way to do it would be to make it so that 1 corp keeps it name, and all of the assets from the other corp get moved over. All players that are moving corps will get there roles removed.

So am I. My little altcorp would be very pleased to merge with big mothercorp where all main members live out there in 0.0 in POS'es. It's just that it's totally unreasonable to get corp standings up to empire pos levels if you have 100+ members. We did try, for almost 6 months, it's not possible unless you start kicking people who start bleeding from eyes if they are forced to do missions, as it happens they usually are also those who like to 'pewpew' against other players.
As I'm 'main' character I would belong rightfully into 'main' corp, but alas, someone has to oil the POS wheels every now and then and while it's possible to give that duty to random alt, it's too easy to forget to do so resulting in very unhappy POS.

The only way to do a merger would be for one of the corps to own all the shares of another corp and therefore absorb it. At that moment you could allow a name change as well.

So if a corporations gave/sold another corporation their shares, than that corp would automatically merge into the shareholder corporation?

This was just an idea how it could work.
I don't think there is a mechanism in game to actually do it though.

That is a clever proposal.
