I am thinking about running a very small (2-3 person) gang for roaming pvp. Right now I am thinking about using the following three ships:
1x Huggin 1x Astarte 1x Cerberus
The huggin would be the tackle, of course. Standard setup. The Astarte would be the DPS ship that would let us handle BCs and BSs. The hole I saw was dealing with interdictors, interceptors, and nano-ships (i.e, vagas). If we set the Cerberus up as follows, how well would it deal with nano-ships, or would the fact that a Huggin is in gang make them stay away?
Cerb:
5x Assualt Launcher IIs with Bloodclaw Precision missles
3x LSE IIs 1x EM Hardener II 1x Invuln II
3x BCS IIs 1x DC II
1x missle velocity rig 1x explosion velocity rig
That gives it an effective 70k hitpoint of buffer tank, and the missles do a bit over 9k/sec with a 4800/sec explosion velocity. It only has about 180 DPS, though. All this with my current skills.
Thoughts? Would it be more effective to drop the Cerb altogether for another DPS ship (gank Nighthawk, Sliepnir, Absolution, Armageddon, Megathron) or a Basilisk/Guardian?

Use a rapier instead with covertops cloak. Huggin does more dmg, but nano ships would engage you if they see a huggin/rapier on scanner. ______________________________________________________________

Im assuming thats wouldnt engage which they wont or they will run as soon as they see one. get a rapier and then basically anything that can do damage. cerbs are good any missile ship is pretty good when the target is webbed to hell and back. Drakes spring to mind here. Ranged ships are good as tehy dont have to get in range and u can kill them faster. -------------------------------------------------- It is not what u are underneath, but what you do that defines you |

only problem i see is that if your using this to roam for nano gangs, and you run into a gank gang (high DPS/tank)instead it will really screw you guys.
now if you know a nano gang is coming and have the ships ready, then yea might be good, or have a logistics ship with you because the huggin/rapier will be primaried and if the nano-ships have ok damage before you can nail them (and they continue to engage) the huggin/rapier will die.
just my 2 cents

1x Huggin -> basic setup 1x Cerb -> Heavy Missle Launcher II's with precision 1x Astarte -> change this
I'm guessing your third guy is gallente so I'd change it to either one of the gallente recons, or an Ishtar with a web, scram, tracking disruptor. If frigs get webbed a cerb with precisions pretty much instapops them. An ishtar's warrior II's will eat them up also, unless they have a decent microwarp and/or snakes. Vaga's have crap tracking.
If your third guy can fly mimitar, get a vaga :). Fight nano, with better nano!

Or replace the Astarte with a Domi, cheaper, nastier. Use a couple Neuts, maybe blasters, some drones. Have a party. Occassus Republica <3 |
