I was wondering if there was a list of "honorable" pirate corps floating around anywhere. What I mean by honorable is that they always honor ransom agreements and have Corporate rules in place providing consequences should a member violate that rule. Basically I want to know who's ransom demands I should consider and who I should tell to go "F" themselves cause I'm losing my ship or pod anyway. Who's got a good rep and who doesn't?
Does this mean I'll pay the ransom, not necessarily, it could be too high or I might not have the cash (darn expensive skill books) but one of the first things to do when new to a place is learn the lay of the land, who is who, and what to generally expect from them. I intend to avoid Low sec & 0.0 for a bit but I still have to cross low sec in my travels occasionally so the more I know the better.

As far as i can remember sn1ggerdly (using a 1 because it thinks im swearing..) used to honour ransoms...
Thats about the only group that i can think of though there are plenty out there...

Really most all pirate corps honor ransoms. Really if you are looking for the corps to watch out for you should ask who not to trust. Make sense? Single out the bad guys not the good guys there's far more honorable pirates than non.

ransoming is a fairly reasonable method of raising funds for pirates, but it is a fragile thing, one person cheating a ransom is enough to ruin a corps reputation, so most corps will rather kick a ransom cheat rather than loosing the rep.
Exotic Dancers Club has always had a zero tollerance policy towards disshonouring ransoms. most other pirate corps are the same in my experience.

It also might help to narrow down the area you are asking about. Give a region, there aren't many pirate corps that operate throughout all of low sec...
The Bastards always honor ransoms, and if someone pops your ship after receiving the ransom, you are paid back. Accidents do happen.

You should go to the CEO of any pirate corp where a member has not honored a ransom. If you get no response then name and shame them here.
Pirates honoring ransoms is important to all pirates and most honor them. The potential for future ISK is worth much more than a pod kill mail that is accompanied by a ruined reputation.

The Bastards second this sentiment. If you are fortunate enough to see your pod still floating in space a few seconds after being scrammed then it's your lucky day and we will offer you a ransom and honor it. (Unless someone is not on vent at the time in which case all funds will be promptly returned.  )

Muffin Factory found a way to fix the problem... there is a designated pod tackler... only he may lock a pod. If you pop the pod you pay the ransom out of your own wallet

This. From personal experience, I can tell you you can always trust Veto, only guys who I couldn't really escape.
Anyway, it's typically me tackling the pod with hot guns in a Rifter or something. I find the bigger the gang is, there's more likelyhood that someone is locking the pod with hot guns and, well

IDLE GUNS will honor ransoms. Sorry but sometimes we get a bit hasty and may not offer you a ransom. You can always try yelling ransom in local before your ship blows up. If your ship blows up, we might refrain long enough to scramble your pod and ransom that instead. Remember kids if you don't have the funds available you get a free vat ride.

ceo got a pod kill on a war target with a non-sensorboosted abaddon
and there were like 6 more of us there
funny story as the wartarget started off talking trash and ended up getting concorded on the first day of the war. by the next day there was an alt ceo and like 5 inactive members.

from what i hear VETO Corp. Is quite high on the whole honor thing. So.... I'd say VETO as one of the most trustworthy corps i've seen for a long while

Any member of Blood Corsairs that dishonours a ransom will be kicked (with suitable evidence shown) and any from another corp within Blood Blind will have there CEO notified and will prolly either be kicked or have the ransom replaced -including the ship they killed.
Blood Blind ALWAYS honour ransoms, its how we make 70% of our isk (other 30% is having Cursed vendetta and lucius tag team agaisnt roids).

As most of the people in this thread have posted, we honor ransoms 100% of the time without fail, and have been doing so for over two years.
Myself, I've been actively ransoming since 2004 and probably have 10x the amount of successful ransoms than I do kills.
It's something I've carried over to running Veto Corp.
Pay The ManÖ and you'll be released without a problem.

Myself and my corp always honor our ransoms/surrender fees and terms. It's just plain bad for business if you don't honor them.
I've not paid a ransom so I can't say first hand who is honorable. Though as mentioned in the thread Veto's name will ring constant from most people. The other names that come to mind for me at least are REPO and BYDI.

I can say that TRAPS certainly honors ransoms (though I don't believe we have many of those as we mainly hunt wartargets), as well as pre-arranged 1v1's.
Any member caught breaking either of those receives an insta-kick from Nexa, regardless of how long they've been in the corp or how "well liked" they are. Breaking any of the corp rules is not tolerated.
EDIT: And that's why it's a good idea to hit Refresh before you post.

Heretic Army always honors ransoms as well as pre-agranged 1v1's. 1v1 policy simple, only rule is there's only 2 pilots involved unless you set other terms well before the engagement.
Ransom terms are simple, we set the number, you pay that number you're free. If you pay a different number or simply don't respond, you explode.

Well Verone it seems your corp has a stellar reputation, my hats off to you, that's no small feat. Love the sig BTW. I hope to never meet up with you or your corp mates in low sec but should that occur I know I'll at least be able to trust that you all will honor any agreements and I'll pass that info along to my corp mates as well.
