Passive/Plate Tank
Cap boosters
Even with injectors, my cap will die far sooner than my tank. Trust me on that :)

I fitted my Onyx with passive tank, it looks very solid, but i keep wondering if it's better to go for speed instead, or like always it depends on what situation you expect to use the ship? --------------------------- Deadly Alliance Website and Forums |

I think the Heavy Dictors really need to be fitted with their bonuses in mind --- Tanking and resists. My Phobos achieves 84% 88% 92% and 95% resists. Once you tackle it's up to your mates to keep you alive however they can and to kill the primary.
I just bought a second one and i am toying with speed tanking it but unless it can achieve high speeds at perma run then i don't think it would be worthwhile.

Well my current Onyx setup is pure tank. No speed at all. Reason being - When you're bubbling you cant mwd effectively. As such, the only use is for getting to gates when YOU have been bubbled, and to get ontop of folks who are outside your bubble range. To which i give two arguements.
Firstly, Hictors are the heavy counterparts of interdictors. Which to me, implies slow, heavy armor/tank/shield whatever, higher damage, and so on. So that in my mind gives the role of 'permabubble on a gate' style thing. For bubbling a fleet/gang 56km away, you want a normal dictor, until such time as the hictor can get into place.
Now, for important uses of a hictor, such as capital tackling, chances are you will haev a warp in point. Whether its a cov ops, or a gang mate already, you should have someone to warp to.
Therefore, the way i see it, theres only a few situations where an MWD would be of use, and in every situation, a tank is needed. Therefore, i stick with the theme of tank > Speed.
187k effective hp, lowest resist 82%, and ofc a bubble. Anything else is secondary to the role.
