(Note, don't post whines, random trolling\ranting here, please, just constructive opinions)
Ok, we have all seen what CCP think about Amarr in the recent dev blog, i am not one to argue, so I suggest: just take what CCP give you with a smile, and come with good suggestions based on the questions in the dev blog:

# Some ships could need lovin' # Cap usage on Energy Weapons may be too high in some cases # Fitting requirements on some Energy Weapons need adjusting
Challenge: Come with good suggestions for the noted problems.
It's great being Amarr isn't it.
Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions!

Ok, i will start with my opinions:

Maller: really needs it's cap use bonus switched to a damage bonus Propecy: Again, needs it's cap use bonus switched to a damage bonus Apoc: Needs a role, some have suggested a optimal bonus in place of the cap use bonus, this makes it fleet ship no:1, but do we really want large pulses and tachyons with a optimal bonus? Neut boat is to much of a pvp thing, this has to be good for mission runners too.
# Cap usage on Energy Weapons may be too high in some cases: Yes, it is: just reducing it is one thing, reducing it by allot, and removing the cap usage "bonus" is another thing (second bonuses must be evaluated carefully, as feks the geddon really don't need a boost)
# Fitting requirements on some Energy Weapons need adjusting: I can't come with comments on this field. It's great being Amarr isn't it.
Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions!

Yeah agreed, they need to look at those ships first.
Problem is, what to do with laser cap use. If you remove that bonus on the sucky ships and give them a damage bonus how are they going to manage their cap? They would need increased cap recharge to balance that loss.
The apoc should really be a missile/drones boat. Our ratting, mission running and T1 khanid line BS.
Omen needs another turret and maybe a range bonus instead of the cap one
Maller and Prophecy need a damage bonus

Edited by: Lord Bastian on 30/01/2008 23:31:30 Ships needing lovin: we all know the answer to that Cap issue's: Oh god yes, even with 3x ccc's most Amarr ships have big issue's (accept the Harbinger IMO) Fitting Req's: Make Beams a viable solution not a sacrifice.
Id say more but im feeling lazy today, perhaps its the Mental DAZE i was put into after the shock that CCP was actually going to do something!! =)

I think the apocalypse should be a missile boat, like the sacrilege, it will do a nice pve ship and not bad fo pvp too. Actually not a lot of ppl use the apoc, cause is not really atractive, can dual rep for ever, but the abaddon got better resist, can't do a lot of damage, ect.
I don't think the maller or prophecy need a change, they are not good for DPS, but really fun for tanking and baiting :). ...

You could say the same about vengeance, it has a sick tank and could prolly bait alot but fails at everything else. Please people lets not forget that being bait-ship is not a role.

1 Reduce fitting requirements on energy weapons, notably beam lasers.
2 Reduce activation cost on energy weapons, notably beam lasers.
3 Do not touch the bonuses on any of the Amarr ships.(if you absolutely must play with the bonuses by removing the 50% cap use and replacing it with another bonus, please reduce base cap use by 50% as well as whatever the new bonus would be at lvl 5)
Fixing or improving current ships: -Increase Powergrid on Omen & Zealot (also give the Zealot its launcher or dronebay back from the Omen Hull preferably both) -Add Launcher points to Arbitrator, make it the T1 Khanid cruiser while remaining a drone boat. (would give a Vexor a good run) -Increase Capacitor or Powergrid on Prophecy -Increase Powergrid on Apocalypse (making it the sustainable and easier to fit beam boat) --- ΞνΞ ΘΠLІΠΞ Amarr dont need Grr... and RAWR is definately too much, but some Oomph would be nice. |

Also, while you guys are at it, please buff Energy Neutralizers and Tracking Disrupters. TIA --- ΞνΞ ΘΠLІΠΞ Amarr dont need Grr... and RAWR is definately too much, but some Oomph would be nice. |

Fitting is fine.
Cap usage is fine.
Tracking disruptors needs to have their effectiveness increased.
The Apocalypse needs a role that's actually applicable to combat today besides AFK shooting a POS. Keeping in line with Khanid hulls being T2 only I'd say make it a 6/6/6 drone/TD bonused ship to mirror the Arbitrator hull and decrease fitting/turret-hardpoints while increasing drone bay and bandwidth in accordance.
The Omen (desperately) needs more fitting room and another turret.
Zealot needs a 25-50m^3 drone bay.
Prophecy needs a second tanking bonus/laser damage bonus instead of laser cap usage.
Maller needs a second tanking bonus/laser damage bonus instead of laser cap usage.
That's it, really, everything else seems fine.

The Zealot doesnt need drones and missile slots. It needs another turret hardpoint with pg to fit it. Drones are useless because the Zealot is a support sniper. We already have a great gang/solo hac and its the sacrilege. Giving Zealot only missile hp and drones would not change much, it would still be half-azzed.

Also please dont post ideas about making apoc into a TD ship before TDs are fixed...
I think amarr are in much more need of a pure BS sized sacrilege. A mission boat and ratter ignoring damage type problem for amarr in these situations and a decent pvp ship at the same time. What more would we want?

Torp BS aren't doing so well in PVE these days, and Khanid are only close range missiles. And a T1 Khanid ship feels wrong (TBH I was hoping T2 BS would include one). =\
A drone/TD ship even with borderline worthless TD would be capable. Drones are a fix for the damage type problem in PVE, and a nos/neut domi does fine even though it wastes one of its bonuses in PvP.
To be honest though, the Apocalypse doesn't really have any place to go but up. =P

Paladin should have been a khanid imo. I mean we had khanid in all our T2 ships why did they scrap it for the battleships? Since ccp doesnt really go inline with race design I really cant see a problem with a T1 khanid kinda apoc with missiles.
