That, or adjust skill training so it works in 12-hour blocks.
You know, for those of us for full time jobs. 7 Hour skills FTL.

How about this? The queue only works if you're paying for your subscription, and you can chain just one skill. :) this is nice for those who have to work early so they don't need to wake up family members with their loud, noisy 4 year old gaming rig, wait 5 minutes to start up, login, and then change their skill at 6 am I think it could work, if they limited it to those above parameters. I can't imagine it would be hard to create a flag for the queue to not chain if the account was inactive. Another one bites the dust. |

When you missed a few hours of skill training, just see it as if you started playing EVE a few hours later... nothing to worry about.

I would love a skill queue, a small queue where you could load no more than 30 days worth of training would be cool. It helps out those with lots of small skills who might not be able to get on all the time.
As for the OP, if it was me I'd have switched it to a longer skill and came back and trained it later. Much better to keep the missus happy than to make her mad. Gotta set the right priorities if you plan for it to work.

The skill queueueueue* thing is one of those matters where I can find neither a good argument for or against it. So I'm going to vote against it, if only because people keep making new threads about it.
*: I know how to spell 'queue', just not when to stop doing so.

right now i have no will to play eve and i am really boarded with it right now, i have it paid for a year so there is no way for me to cancel and come back when i want so i am making the most of things
if i could skill lets say 5 skills i would que a lot of long skills and come back in months wtih some uber skills trainned

I would be happy if I could only cue in 24-48 hours. Just so I can put in a bunch of 3-4 hour skills after each other.
I personally forgot a skill I had trained up to 99% once for two months. It was an advanced learning skill too
But I would love this feature as long as it only works over 1 or 2 days. This would help players like me who only log in once a day for a few hours tops. This means I take days to train a 7 hour skill ATM.

Edited by: Sean Dillon on 02/02/2008 13:22:23 For a moment when reading this thread I hoped it was about putting a jump queue on jita again.
And yeah, in my 2 years of playing I prolly lost over 2 mill sp I could have had if I wans't so lazy planning skills, so a queue would be a big help. Its for those kind of skills that finishes when your in your bed sleeping.

yes, which is something that will change if a queue system is brought in unless CCP state that to allow your skill queue to auto switch from one to the other you have to be subscribed to the game?
To add to Bimjo's comment, without the "Must Be Subscribed" solution, consider an all new, evil element to EvE: The Uber E-Bay Player.
Yes, with the "Queue Without Subscription" solution, people will join EvE for one month, prepared and ready with their EvEMon-created Powerhouse Player Training Guide, and then just show up after six months to pickup their Powerhouse Player, and sell him/her online.
And if you think they'd be doing this once - think again. I can see somebody paying for a bunch of subscriptions, all for the opportunity to sell their 'product' for thousands, albeit illegally, outside of the game.
Right. Because even with the current supply of characters, this is a viable way to make money
And if the supply were to increase, prices would RISE!
Seriously man, imagine there are eBay character farmers. Are you seriously going to say, with a straight face, "these guys can't and won't use macros to change their skills"?
The answer is simple: there's no obvious reason that a skill should stop training until it hits level 5. So let skills continue until level 5 is completed. That only increases the very maximum time you can be offline by 25% for those obsessed with that issue. But it does solve the problem of those annoying 6-hour skills. No queue is introduced that can be expanded later, so the slippery slope is avoided.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

While this is not a mjor issue for me, it would make skill timing so much simpler.
Set the main skill you want trained, regardless of length, with the 2nd skill being a long skill that you also want to get eventually.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

Because it would allow a queue, while keeping the behavior of inactive accounts exactly the same as it is today....
Why wouldn't they change the way skills train offline at the same time as implementing a queue? If they're revamping the system they could even slow skill training to a third while the account is inactive. People still have some incentive to come back and do new stuff months later... ---- Anything less is wasted effort |

Originally by: Raxxius Maelstrom Um, yeah cause you know, maybe the whole no sp training while sub is inactive, or no skill switching or whatever is just one tiny step of logic too far for you?
Maybe allow it to train for 24h after the sub expires. I have 5 accounts, 4 with GTC's I dont buy a new gtc until the account expires.
