Edited by: Random Lust on 04/02/2008 17:50:44 Mining for profit can be lucrative. How lucrative? It depends on what you do with your minerals. Using your minerals to build massive Tech 2 ships will be different than selling your collected minerals directly to the market. IÆve created a XML sheet to help you with the latter. Using some resources on the net and simple algebra, IÆve created a table that will tell you what ore (depending on market price and mining rate) is worth per second/hour. If my math is correct, and I believe it is, this will be a mathematical limit of how fast you can make money. Hauling, mining drones and roid pops are not taken into account. I believe this particular XML sheet to be very useful for upcoming miners; but, perhaps not. IÆve moved on to create more specific and complex XML sheets incorporating BPO production, perhaps IÆll release them if I get positive feedback.
What IÆm looking for is to find out if there is a need for this kind of information. I have some ideas to break down ISK per hour depending on what mods, ships, structures, ammo the user intends on doing with the mined ore. Knowing a profit margin can be extremely useful in many ways. The market can be hard to comprehend and it you can view it in a simple profit comparison, it could be helpful. I plan on writing this in C# or Java programming language with a database of BPO and profit comparison with ore acquisition paths. (Meaning, if you follow a specific dynamic ore mining path to get a combination of required minerals compared to a static or less dynamic path. Hope thatÆs clear.)
I hope IÆm not the only person in Eve that finds this information useful. If you think IÆm on to something, let me know. Suggestions are also welcome. Eve-mail me!

Doesn't look like XML file at all. Are you sure you don't mean XLS?
Anyway... probably most clear if you refer it as Excel sheet instead.

Well you surely saved some of my time on projecting revenues or the ISK needs of a particular project. Nice sheet.

Corrected, thank you. I ment Excel, but had XML in my head for some reason.

Mate... I think you got the whole Crystal unit wrong :S Entering these numbers times 3 (3x MDSMII) gives me a quite stupid ISK/Hour ratio...

You don't add the two numbers together. You only take the speciality amount = 1332....

Added ISK/m3 for hauling-profit purposes as requested.

one question. why bother making this stuff public? killing your own profits
and not like its hard to make a spreadsheet anyways

When I last checked this was a community.
Community - comòmuòniòty (kə-myōō'nĭ-tē) n. 1. A group of people having common interests 2. A group viewed as forming a distinct segment of society 3. Sharing, participation, and fellowship.
Since you donÆt understand that, I can deduct that you spend your time roaming and podding miners. I bet you achieved a successful -9.9 with all your terrorist acts. I suggest you stick to your own community and stop questioning mine.
I could give more reasons, but I bet your stuck father up this post trying to understand ô(kə-myōō'nĭ-tē)ö and will never get this far. So I will end it here.

Edited by: Kylar Renpurs on 11/03/2008 05:25:30 It'd be nice if it had a chart based off mineral prices rather than ore prices too. Might haxxor it a little when i get home...
Cheers but :)

Done! Although, I had a hard time finding prices for most ore. So, IÆm not sure how much of an addition this will be. But you requested it.

Nice sheet, but I don't really get where I get the "Total Mining Amount or Specialty Crystal Mining Amount" number from. Default is 3.4K, I just get 1.7K on my T2 strip+T2 crystal. How come there's such a huge difference? Or am i taking the wrong number? (show info on T2 strip miner). I'm in a Hulk, should I multiply it by 3 maybe? 3 strip miners?

Ya, your total mining amount per cycle. So, in a battleship you could have 8 strip miners. (Preferably, they are all the same mods and therefore, they all have the same cycle time.) So, then you would take the listed mining amount from one mod and multiply it by 8. Same thing would be true in any mining barge, tech 1 or 2. Just remember that if you are using crystals, you would chose the "Specialty Crystal Mining Amount" instead of the regular amount. Then, multiply that amount by the number of mods you have.. Plug it into the the xcel sheet with your cycle time ('cycle time' does not get multiplied or modified) from the mod info page.
Work smarter, not harder.
