Edited by: diploid on 05/02/2008 16:50:02 Hi,
I noticed the new deimos 6/4/5 lay out with extra grid removal of mwd bonus and addition of armour (why has armour changed to armor - has it always been like this?) repair bonus.
This has succeeded in turning a reasonable (barely) damage dealing ship into a ship completely incapable of tanking. I would say that a Vexor will do more DPS than a Deimos now - but i am genuinely frightened that someone the CCP nerf squad will go and Nerf the Vexor - maybe give it 40mbit/s or something.
I think you really need to re-think the new Deimos, because it is just a poor version of other HACS now. I know some chump decided it can die too quick and needs to be able to tank better and another chump somewhere decided that the way to fix this was for it to be able to tank a alot worse than other HACS while being able to do a bit more damage until it's pitiful capcitor dies (it doesn't last very long btw).
The idiot who designed it designed it to fit:
5 neutrons MWD 2, web, scram, MED CAP inj eanp 2, DCU 2, MAR 2, and 2 hardeners - or some variation losing the eanp for 3 actives.
It is not subtle, it has almost exaclty enough grid and cpu for this and it is;
A BAD IDEA and doesnt work well.
To you i say:
GO AWAY.[EDIT]i also say; you are not very good at designing game mechanics and so do not come back. You are mroe suited to IT admin [/EDIT]
Thanks

It was working before!
If you want to change it, keep several weeks of tests, next week, move the 6th hi slot to low, increase the grid so we can fit ions!
And zealot vs deimos is a very very bad test! Deimos vs any medium to long range ship is a bad test. Solo PvP only exists on sisi, and there is no other place it exists, whenever you meet a pirate in lowsec, once you're scrambled 3 friends come to be sure you die... In 0.0, it's (nano) gangs, never alone. And for other 0.0, it's blob...
The deimos was a proper damage dealer with a strange mwd bonus, at least it made damage and it could stand some damage by mostly passively receiving damage on very high resistances. Now, it's lower DPS or lower tank (as repairing fast doesn't save you in a gang with several people shooting you), so either it won't kill anyhting ot it will die fast.
You tried to make it more 'sacrilege like', but it fails as the sacrilege can whistand much more damage with its amarr resistances and the 25% resistance bonus.
And, last thing, if you want it to fight a zealot, then it needs a zealot like slot layout : more lows, no utility slot (and as it has drones and it's a close range ship, smartbombs are not the right option, the slot is useless, nosf will not help a cap boosted setup!). -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

out of all ships in eve cruiser sized, the deimos potentially does the most damage by a significant amount 772 dps coming from a cruiser is pretty insane if you ask me (of course thats gank fit, but still) and deimos vs zealot? well, you now have roomd for a mwd cap booster and web... a zealot has room for point web and mwd.
maybe use some tactics and fit a neut on!, youll end up with one dead zealot.
you guys need to think out of the box, the change to the deimos is amazing. if it was always that slot layout i would have trained for it ages ago _________________________________________________________ Only once you've lost everything, are you free to do anything. You and about 1% of the actual Deimos pilots. Go back to flying nanoships. You have said you've never flown it, and I've never seen you in an actual blaster-gankboat. Train the skills on Sisi, then maybe you'll be able to speak of the combat style.
As I mentioned before, I wasn't wasting isk on the Deimos before, and I'm sure as hell not wasting it now. I'll save the money and just buy a Brutix; my death is nearly guaranteed in either case, might as well save 80m isk.
