"Sul det Matari, long live Matari, long live the fighters. This is the story of our tribes men, our kin, our honored dead; who stood before the might of the God Tyrant and his leviathans!" said the elder, standing before a *****ling fire that cast his lean yet muscular frame in a heavy contrast of dancing light and shadows. Adults and children alike sat in rapt awe of the elder, his tattooed body still bearing the scars of a capsuleer's years of intravenous sustainment in a tiny pod encased in hulks of steel and iron. "An Amarr fleet like none assembled gathered before us, the great fiery beast Magatuh in our tongue sheltered them from our scouts eyes"-the elder pointed to a red star hanging low in the sky-"like a hawk hides in the rays of the sun to shield it from the rabbits eyes so too did our enemy; but we Brutor are no rabbits!" A collective clatter of hands slapping hips resounded around the fire accompanied by hoots before the elder raised his hands to quiet them. "They mocked Matari with their brashness, they spit on our honor and courage as they lazily drifted about the beast Magatuh! We found them, we knew them yet they saw nothing of us! So confident in their war machines, so consumed by their foolish pride that the Amarr did not consider some few Matari soldiers a threat. Yet their numbers would count for nothing, for we struck with speed and we fought like demons. Every kin and clansmen here would sacrifice themselves willingly for the honor of their blood and family, for their tribe and Matari! Slaves, that is what the Amarr sent to fetter us out. Slaves, who begun to fear our raids more than the Amarr lash. Like the cunning wolf against the bull, we nipped at the monsters heals, we bled him and wounded it; made the great leviathans slow and stupid." The elder became silent a moment waving his hand over the fire while closing his eyes and lifting his face to the heavens, "Then came the most terrible monster of all. We had angered the God tyrant, and from the depths of his empire he set against us a great worm that spouted fire from its thousand mouths and disgorged a plague of chattering locust that swept across our soldiers in a maddening storm of pain and destruction." He looked back down to those gathered about as they pensively waited on his next words with eyes the size of saucers, "Yet we are Brutor." he thumped his chest and smiled, "we are Matari and not cowards. Every soldier stood before the tide of flame and we made that monster bleed!" The cheer among the tribe shattered the nightĘs peace for dozens of yards away as it was always a source of great pride to hear the deeds of their peoples upheld. "We crashed against the monster time and again, never relenting, never backing away! Each wave would rally as they each raced to be first to strike till their last spear was loosed; their quiver and sling empty. Yet still they would attack, flinging their own bodies upon the creature to fight it with tooth and claw! The great monster shuddered and fell before us! When Matari roared in triumph the very heart of the God Tyrant trembled before our fury! Long live the fighters! Sul det Matari!"
