I'm looking for some advice on how to fit my absolution. This is my current fit:
Low: Hvy Pulse II x 6, Improved Cloak II Mids: Cap booster II (800 charges), fleeting Scram and Webber Lows: arII x2, therm and kin hardeners II, dc II, hs II In the last low slot I can't decide to put another hs or a eanm.
Any suggestions?

Another HS II.
But the Abso suffering are the Mid Slots.
With Heavy Pulses II and no Speed Mode - everything that can shoot you from 15+ km can kill you. Even a Zealot (not nanoed) might kill you with ease.

I'm not sure a zealot could take an absolution out. The pulses with scorch crystals range to 24k and do at least as much damage as a zealot using conflags. That evens out the dps, and the absolution has a much better tank than the zealot. Yea the 3 mids is a problem -- could fit an ab instead of webber but then there's the issue of tracking speed. I think the absolution a great ship especially for small fleet engagements.

6 x HP II scorch/conflag ( or amarr navy multifreq ) 1 x small NOS II 10mn MWD II, Cap booster, Webber II 2 x mar II, 2 x eanm II, 1 x energized thermic II, 2 x Heat sinks.
2 x auxiliary nano rigs.

Khanid's fit, changing the webber with a scrambler. I never have problem with tracking tbh.
And Mariana, your Abso 1st fit, vs my Zealot - your scorch HPLs won't hit me at all - don't forget you get a tracking hit using them.

High: 6x HPL II, 1x Med Dim NOS Meds: 10MN MWD II, Med Electro Cap Booster, T2 Disruptor Lows: 2x MAR II, DCU II, DB Energized Thermic, DB EANM, 2x HS II Rigs: Anti-Kinetic Pump, Ancillary Current Router I Drones: 5x Hobgoblin II or EC-300
Never fit a cloak, as it gimps your scan-resolution to a degree where most targets are dead before you've locked them.
If you use a 3% Turret CPU Implant, you can swith for a T2 EANM, but the Dark Blood has more resists. .

First off the Cloak is a bad idea. If you are not a 0.0 carebear or a capitalship there is little or no reason to fit these on ships that were not designed to fit them. Instead fit either an Assult Missle Launcher or a Neut. The utility high is for defensive mods. Of course, if you have the skills, a sing gang mod.
Secondly, you will want an AB or a MWD depending on the role. If you are going to be in a small gang, bite the bullet and fit a MWD, if you are going to be in a larger gang, then an AB will suffice - the tradeoff between the two is a hard one for Amarr - its not automatic. Webber or scram is a tough one too - if you have tacklers, then don't bother with a scram.
Thirdly, 2 or 1 HS - its not really that important. Whats important is to fit your tank correctly. An EANM is better then a DC for Amarr, so if you go for 2 HS, then drop the DCU for an EANM. If you decide to fit 1 HS, then fit 2 EANM. ----

Edited by: Willy Joe on 08/02/2008 23:28:15 Lows : 2x MAR II 1x Armor thermic hardener II 1x Damage control II 1x 1600mm plate 2x heat sink II
Meds : 10mn MWD II x5 webber medium electrochemical
High : 6x Focused medium pulse II 1x med remote rep/small-med neut - offlined for overloading weapons
Rigs : 1x Auxiliary Nano pump I 1x Trimark armor pump I
You do not have a bonus to repping , you have a bonus to resists , thus the hp from the plate helps a lot more. The dps is decent , about 600 with everything but spec. skill maxed out ( and no implants for damage atm ) including 5x hobgoblins II or 5x Warriors II
IMO Excellent boat in small gangs , able to get in the middle of the fight , with quite a bit of surviability seeing as how it won't get popped in the first 5 seconds of the fight by those gank bs like all those other active tanking command ships will

BUMP, i wanna see more. this is mine and id like some help.
Highs... 5 T2 Heavy Pluse 1 Improved Cloak
Mediums... T2 AB T2 Medium Cap Booster (400) T2 Web/Disruptor
Lows... 2 T2 Medium Armor Reps 2 T2 EANM's 3 TS Heat Sinks (not T2, TS )
Rigs... 2 Armor Nano Pumps
Drones... 5 T2 Warriors
I know i have a cloak, this is just because if i need to warp away and hide in a SS. This way i can cloak, not be scaned and hot droped by nano gangs or of the sort. not to mention i cant fit anything useful in the slot.
My resis are... EM = 82.4% Thermal = 71.4% Kinetic = 79.4% Explosive = 86.8%
I can run duel reps for about 5.5 mintues with booster running, this is not with me being nos'd. Tho i do think 5 mintues is enuff to bqq someone with this ship. 30 seconds less with ab on.
I got warriors other than hobbys to get faster frigs, and also a little different damage type.
I got... 744 DPS 1574 Volley 150 m/s without ab 353 m/s with ab 6006 armor hp
I think thats it. Some help would be great!

With scorch you can hit stuff out to disruption range and further, death to range like this wont happen. This is what happens when a kestrel with thermal missiles declares war on earth |

good thread this and a few good points.. wat id like to say is this.. the correct implants help a bunch.. turret cpu. 5% damage. Armpor rep amount 3% and rep cycle 3 % (5 if u can afford them)
and then like the gent above stated with the resists bonus and the high resists of the abso its worth especially with lvl 5 comp skills to fit a plate. i use a true sansha reactor control (15%)pg (secret ubermodofdoom) that allows u to fit the 1600mm plate and 6 heavy pulses np 2x med rep and resist/ damage bonuses.
i personally always fly with support and find with scorches and good tactics and tracking skills a speed mod is not required! flying solo or small gang roaming i might fit an ab. but if u fly well then u should never have to run away ! mids its either scram/web/booster 4 solo.... cap recharger x2 and booster 4 bait tanking. tracking computer and sensor booster and cap booster 4 a roaming gang
if u have really good fitting skills u can fit a named or faction nos in the top as well! use shadow serp reppers instead of med t2s if ur low on cash.. same attributes less fitting reqs! rigs i go 4 one aux nano pump and nanbot accel. exile boosters if u have the skills make a huge difference! as well overheating and nanite paste can save ur life! 5x ecm-300 drones r essential piece of kit!.
That is it.. all my knowledge in the usage of the absolution.. i cant play eve at the moment so to u my fellow amarr pilots i give this knowledge to pwn! long live amarr!

Edited by: nthexwn on 12/02/2008 02:24:51 I've been using an Absolution to run L4 missions for over a year now, but I'd really like some help transitioning to PVP with it. I've only used it in a couple of engagements so far, but here's the setup I'm currently using:
Highs: 6x Heavy Pulse Laser II (Amarr Navy Multifrequency M) 1x Salvager I
Mediums: 1x 10MN Afterburner II 1x Warp Disruptor II 1x Cap Recharger II
Lows: 1x Medium Armor Repairer II 1x 1600MM Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1x Energized Thermic Membrane II 2x Heat Sink II
Rigs: 2x Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones: 5x Warrior II
Cargo: 12x Amarr Navy Multifrequency M 12x Scorch M
Implants: 1x Hardwiring - Inherent Implants 'Squire' PG2
Boosters: *None*
If some more experienced pilots could point out any glaring flaws with using this setup for 1-2 man low-sec work then please tell me before I go lose another one! :P

If your ratting in 0.0 and you been agroed it helps alot to have a cloaking device fitted. usually the only people that moan are pvpers who let an cs get away only to have it cloak. -

I got my Absolution a couple weeks ago - I had mostly been flying a zealot for solo operatins before (HAC 5), and this a huge, absolutely amazing upgrade. Killboard speaks for itself lately. There's a few rules I operate under..
You must fit a MWD for PvP. You go around 1km/sec depending on skills, rigs, etc. This is essential for catching/killing people and for surviving.
You must fit at least a small amount of cheap faction gear. With this being a 150mil isk ship (at least), if you can afford to PvP in it you can afford some cheap faction resists - they boost your resists a little and most importantly keep your CPU usage down.
Fit two reppers and a cap booster, no matter what. That only leaves you one mid slot left - scram for solo work, web if in a gang with tacklers.
I've been using this setup lately and it's been flawless -
6X Heavy Pulse II (Amarr Navy Multifrequency, Xray, or Scorch (or radio)) Prototype Cloak - (This is NOT mandatory - a small NOS in this slot works as well)
10mn MWD II JS Prototype Warp Distruptor Medium Capactior Booster II (w/800s)
2X True Sansha Medium Armor Rep (Or MAR IIs, I just happened to kill a guy and loot these) 2X Ammatar ENAMs (ENAM IIs work as well, but higher CPU and lower resists) 1X Active Thermal Hardener (This is where a faction one is cheap and would really lower your CPU) 1X HS II 1X DC II (You can substitute this for a second heat sink. I have med. pulse spec 5, surgical strike 5, etc., so I prefer the extra resists)
Resists - 86/90/83/88 499.35/500 CPU - This gets tight, but remember that a faction thermal hardender, ENAM, or even HS will lower that a good bit.

Lows: 1x1600mm Rolled Tungsten Plate 1xAmarr Navy EANM 1xThermic Hardener II 1xDCU II 1xFaction Heatsink 2xFaction Medium Armor Reps
Mids: 1x10mn MWD II 1xWD II 1xMedium Cap Injector w. 800 charges.
Highs: 6xFocused Medium Pulse Laser II w. Scorch and Faction MF 1xHeavy Launcher II (because you can lol)/whatever
Rigs: 2xAuxiliary Nano Pump
1. The plate will save you from commandship insta-pop in larger engagements (88k effective HP). 2. Still reps like a monster (600 sustainable DPS) 3. The faction can all be downgraded to T2 of course and still fits, but tbh. the faction is worth it on this ship and isn't too expensive either (faction HS is a MUST)
Enjoy

Don't active tank the Abso in PvP. Passive tank, ditch the injector, fit a web. It's much better.
