The US EVE community were hit with a short connection loss to all EVE services, including Tranquility, the EVE home page and all MyEVE pages. Initial investigation leads us to believe there was an internet outage between New York and London, but we are continuing to look into the issue.
More information will be posted as it is made available to the staff.

Edited by: MellaRinn on 09/02/2008 15:00:31 Thsi might ahve something to do with the re-routing of the internet from Asia, as there was a major optic fibre breakdown due to a ship accidently anchoring too close to the lines. This happened at the end of last month and was supposed to take about 15 days to fix. This means redundancy is used to route most of Asian traffic and so it is possible that transatlantic lines are being overloaded as well.
Add that to the fact that London is one of the key routing stations in the worldwide traffic and we have potential outages everywhere...
edit: details here

One one disconnect? How lucky.
Personally, today I had about 15 disconnects and I know a lot of other players from southern germany had them too.

I know of many players from southern germany like bavaria who get disconnected every few minutes. This seems to get worse on weekends when a lot of us have time to play and is less severe during weekdays.
I personally live in northern germany and the connection here is fine.

[Edit] Typo.
Same here. I'm getting frequently disconnected, but only from the eve server. Other services run fine. :(

It extends far beyond NY-London. Anyone running through the affected hops will lose their connection to EVE-O and TQ no matter what they do. I was one of the affected till I did a tracert and found out it was a hop issue. -

Well, the culprit for the southern german problems seems to be f-ea5.F.DE.net.DTAG.de [62.154.16.161], a peering router to Level 3 networks, most likely at the DE-CIX in Frankfurt, Main.
I reported the malfunction today, and others should do the same. Maybe CCP could put some weight behind this too, might accelerate the problem recognition process of the involved networks.

I lost some money in the stock market. Will you reimburse me please?
How in the world can CCP be responsible for internet backbone problems?

Since end of november I have many "connection lost" per day. Mostly all other T-Kom users are also effected. Last days: 09.02.2008: 3x (3h online) 10.02.2008: 8x (5h online)

Here we have it. Same peering routers from DTAG to Level 3.
This is were traces timeout when the disconnects occur.

Same situation for me and some of my corpmates.
A lot of disconnects in random times it seems Frankfurt like explained. But see also 1 disconnect at 195.50.91.22 this evening.
Started last year in November. But since last week it is nearly not playable. Lost a lot of heavy drones during mission running. Got in bad situations sometimes in level IV missions caused by disconnects.
I was allways confused about it cause not all german players got this problem. Players of northern Germany seems to have less problems.
I am also at German T-Com and my mates too (mostly southern germany).
Hope CCP may talk to the providers for some more information what happen.
