I have started EVE again (Classic) after a break of a couple of years, and I am enjoying it again - BUT - I am getting a serious BSOD issue that is making it very difficult to play.
1. The game crashes to a blank blue screen (no stop error)and the PC has to be restarted. This usually occurs when engaging a large number of NPC pirates. By going to "Common Graphics Settings" and switching off the effects I can reduce the problem but not cure it. For example, with everything ON I would probably crash every 15 minutes whether in a battle or not. With everything set to OFF I might last for 3 hours and only crash when fighting a large number of NPC pirates.
I have to say that, although I built this rig almost 4 years ago, it has a decent spec and runs other online games without issue. It never BSODs on any other application. It is fully maintained, AV, anti spyware etc. The graphics card has been dusted and core GPU temp is always under 55C.
2. After one crash I lost all my personal settings - overview settings, bookmark folders, etc. Is there any way to backup / restore the personal settings in case I lose them all again in the future?

I am having a problem similar to that with the Premium graphics installed, my PC will show a blue screen then quickly restart whenever I am near NPC spawns or asteroids. Running windows XP, the only thing I can think of is my 8800GTS requires that you have a 400W power supply and mine is 400W, I have 2 hardrives and I'm thinking it may use to much power

I get the BSOD when I run 2 accounts on my computer at the same time, but never does when running just 1... I dunno if it has to do with alt tabbing all the time or what...

I am having the same problem as Cherri. I've tried what I can to prevent it but nothing works. Nothing else causes my computer to BSOD.

Problem fixed, it was the sound acceleration.
In the meantime I lost my ship (during a crash), bugged or ganged.
Not cool.

My problem sounds very similar to the one posted above. (Here is a link to mine: My Problem.) I will give the sound thing a try. If that fixes it, I will be very happy. (Maybe even transfer some ISK to ya, one I can start playing again!)

Disabling hardware sound acceleration worked for me! Thanks for the tip! You are now my new favorite person in Eve.
