This is weird. Sometimes my targeting box is right in the middle of the top, other times it goes very high left, so far high and left the origin to move it is obscured by the NeoCom.
I've used the esc menu to default windows back to position, and the targeting window didn't budge from the top left corner. No problems with directX 9.0C - on XP so directX 10 isn't a choice.
It might have something to do when I use a ship with a drone bay. I'll have to get back on that one.

You should file a bug report with as much information as possible... especially steps to reproduce

Do you have the 'Selected Items Overview' window minimised or otherwise stacked with other windows?

Edited by: Graceve on 18/02/2008 13:36:39 Yes, I sometimes do stack the overview window with the selected item window to make room for the fleet op windows, and drones window. I'll check to see if that is the source of the problem.
By the way, when will Eve support 2 monitors? I would dearly love to have fleet ops on the second monitor, and the selected target/overview/drones on the original with the HUD.
The background on the second monitor doesn't even have to be space - just get a graphic designer to simulate a control interface from the inside of the space ship. Eventually, when a 3rd monitor is added to support it could simulate an entire *****pit.

This is a known issue and is to do with the fact that the targeting icon is bound to the overview window. When the window isn't present (ie stacked/minimised) it can't get the usual coordinates for it's origin and freaks out in this manner.
It has been resolved internally, and will be released in a patch, but for now all I can suggest is that you don't minimise or stack the overview window.

Yes, I can confirm this bug. I had a window stacked with the selected item window, and immediately upon unstacking the targeting box shifted back to the middle position.
