Edited by: Jmanis Catharg on 18/02/2008 22:35:11 Your corp standing is a balance of all the members of your corp. So if you've got 10.0 to Caldari Navy, and your other 9 mates in your corp have a standing of 1.0 to caldari navy, your corp standing will be about 2.0, and no amount of mishing by you will change that.
EDIT: For the record, if you break away from your corp and form your own, it'll take a few days for your corp standing to reach 10 (if you had a Caldari navy standing of 10) as standings "grow" over time rather than confer instantly to a corp.

Edited by: Horchan on 18/02/2008 22:45:45 Jmanis has it mostly right. Though what he's describing is for a NPC corp's standing to your corp, it works the same way for a faction's standing towards your corp. It's the average faction standing of all the members in your corp (not including any members that have never had any standing gain/loss). ---

so for me to get my corps standing up in Caldari State ill have to get my mates to increase theirs. as we all increase our standings the corp standings increases as well...right
Now do we have to work for Caldari state directly to get the state standings up or can i just work for the caldari what ever...ie...Navy and other corps.

You can't work "directly" for the state, though the closest you can get is by running COSMOS missions like your friend said. These offer a reward of standing to the corp which the agent belongs, AND a faction bonus to that particular faction.
But yeah, you're right. If you want your *corp* to *faction* standing to increase, you'll have to get all your mates to run COSMOS/Storyline missions too. Might be useful for you to gang-share mission standings to get your mates up to level 4 missions for a particular corp, then grind them for storylines (bigger boost to faction standing).

Edited by: Sephra Star on 18/02/2008 22:51:19 So lets say I have a Caldari Navy standing of 9.0 (which I do) and I drop my Corporation to form another to allow my Corp mates to join temporarily in order to get Jump clones. Will this work?
As I understand it as long as they join and leave before downtime resets my Corporate Standing towards Caldari Navy with their low standing in the calculations the idea would be effective for this task. Would it not?
I was hoping I could form it with my my mains Navy Standings and then have a scrub alt take over as CEO, but it sounds like that idea will not work as the Corporations standing with the Navy will drop down to the scrub alts standing level after I leave to rejoin my real corporation.
The only way it appears this idea will work is if I get everyone to do it before my Main leaves the corp and make sure they join, make the clones, and then leave before downtime.

Caldari Navy is a NPC corp. There's no reason why you a NPC corp to have high standings to your corp (or if there is, it's inconsequential).
If you want to launch a highsec POS, you need to worry about NPC faction standing toward your corp, not NPC corp standing toward your corp. ---

Your initial question may be a bit unclear.
Caldari State is a Faction, therefore the only way to raise it is storyline missions or Cosmos missions or slaughter lots and lots of rats that effect it.
As stated earlier, Your Player Corp's standing towards a NPC corp or Faction is an average of all members of your corp that have standings with the intended target.
Corp standing is also slow at responding. Each downtime, the standing may adjust due to changes of standings of corp members. The results are also not apparent to members in the corp. You need to use an alt that is not in the corp to get the corp info to see the real standing.
If you are looking for more info about how to raise a corps standing towards a Faction (mainly to launch a POS in high sec), look at this thread and check out the guide. http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=453136

This is the idea that some people run businesses in EVE on. This works for both Clones and POS. For Jumpclones, you simply join the "service" corp, and then buy the jumpclones wherever you need them, then leave the next day.
For POS, they will form the corp, drop the POS then elect you as CEO and leave the corp. Just never unanchor your POS ;)

Hmmm,, apart from getting corpies to grind faction forever and a day to get the right standings, you'll have to form a new corp yourself, drop the POS (you have to have 10* the security status to be able to drop it) and then get your corpies to all join the new corp.
So if you want to drop it in 0.5, you want to have Caldari State Standings of more than 5.0,, 0.6 is standings of more than 6.0 etc etc.
Other option of course is to drop it in low sec (0.3 or less, 0.4 still require standings) and and forego the dramas.
