Agreed - the so called forum personalities do get called primary a lot. Shrike, Blacklight and db preacher were/are the biggest bullet magnets I've seen to date. To the point where Blacklight stopped flying that account in fleet combat, he only used it for roaming and small skirmishes in the end.

I think that had more to due with them being ceo's or the corps face on eve than posting in self okay dbp is kinda special in this regard

That's true to a degree, but the fact that they were vocal on the forum made them known to our enemies - without the forum presence they wouldn't have been called primary so much, which is the point you're getting at isn't it?

BoB posted a list on their internal forum a month back or so, giving money for the corpses on that list. Looking at it, it must have been mostly composed of the posters they hated the most.

Sorta, the discusion is realy abut do you get primaryed for posting on eve o? or do you get primaryed course your the fc?
i am more includ to say that its due to being fc and other idiots like butter thinks its course you post on the forum.
i can only say my experience is that as long as your not one of the regular fc's it matters sweer **** all if i post on the forum or not.

I think the logical answer is it's probably a bit of both, which doesn't help your argument because you're both right.

GoonemonÖ competition was great fun. You had to collect a set to win special prizes, such as exotic dancers. Think it got canceled since nobody on the list is showing up any more

I haven't flown battleships in PVP for a few years now, because I get shot at all the time in gangs.
I usually fly interceptors, cruisers or covert ops ships.
But yeah, there is a certain notoriety that comes with being recognized from the forums.

It would be the poor fc who primaries a forum poster in a Drake over an unknown in a Brutix. But if the primary didn't matter, (such as in a BS fleet fight), then I'd call the more famous person every time.

Although you may find yourself regularly targeted from now on, considering how ppls minds work in eve they will proly get a chuckle out of the irony.

0verkill with a zero from Evol is primary ITT
He is at the top of the list.
He fits 5 plates and takes as long as an obelisk to warp with Adv Spaceship lvl 2
And yes, I do recall a few times certain personalities that belong to enemy gangs getting primaried first by our FC's. I always thought it was because they were an outspoken/known FC in their own right, trying to disrupt cogent target calling.
Only a few times have I heard a forum personality being called primary for that reason, but that was when I was on an enemy TS listening, which I don't care to do anymore.

If you were my enemy, I wouldn't target you first because I still feel quite sorry for your loss to Daniel Jackson.

Pretty much this. Butter Dogs award for forum trolling gave him an +1000% to being called primary when flying around IAC space.

I get shot at - but I have no idea whether someone calls me primary as a result of having seen a post of mine on the forums, or because of what ship I'm in, or if I've left myself in a more tackleable (I may have just invented a word there!) position than others in my fleet.
I have two pvp characters though, one has positive sec, the other has neg sec - the neg sec one definitely gets primaried more often.

Ha! Can't say this to me--there's a limit to how many characters (no pun intended) you can put in a post!
I imagine Pilk probably gets shot a little more than most. That's why I put her inside a POS bubble 99% of the time, running gang links. When I'm not doing that, I make a point of carefully managing her aggression or of fitting an extra piece of tanking gear. Given my skills, I consider it a service, really; a Vulture has a pretty mean tank, and if I can soak up some damage for a couple minutes (and yes, it's not unusual for my tank to last several minutes under combined fire), how is that not helpful for the fleet?
All that said, the problem with getting a good answer to your question is that the most-prolific posters on CAOD tend to also be their corps' directors, FC's, CEO's, etc. Given that context, it's hard to pick out an example of someone who's shot at exclusively as a result of their forum activity. Speaking as an FC, I'm more interested in calling enemy FC's than almost anything else, and I don't have time to check titles or put a great deal of thought into it when calling, so I'll just call people whose names I recognize. Whether I recognize their names from the forums, from Local smack, or from a book I read five years ago is immaterial, because I don't have time to process why I know their name right then; target-calling is the least important thing an FC does.
