Hi missionrunners, Yakia TovilTobas advice of the day: you better cash in your lps now, because in few weeks they will be worth less. Reason: Alliance Tournament Rewards
No shiny state issue ships but 38.000.000 new lps to the already over-saturated markets for lp items.
Let's assume the average lvl 4 mission from the average lvl 4 agent gives the average lvl4-missionrunner 3800 lp in average. The additional lps are then like 10.000 lvl 4 missions, or if we assume an average lvl4 mission takes 30 minutes, thats 5000 manhours of lvl4 missionrunning.
So better get rid of your lps ASAP, otherwise you get less isk for it.

Thats only if they choose to declare for a given faction...otherswise....
"Should a participant choose to remain recluse and not honor any faction, the winning team is rewarded with the following items. 1st place: 30 available faction ships of choice, distributed between winning team. 2nd place: 20 available faction ships of choice, distributed between winning team. 3rd place: 10 available faction ships of choice, distributed between winning team"
Now, if it was me, I'd say screw the LP and give me 30 Machariels, so I wouldnt get your panties in a twist just yet. I'm sure there will be a glut of new LP coming into the game, but I don't think its gonna be a worst-case-OMGWTFDOIDONOW-scenario like you described.

Anyone with a brain will take that option :p So it's more likely you'll see a drop in the value of faction ships specifically, than an across the board drop in LP value.

I just have to say... the rewards leave much to be desired...
Seriously, LPs??? How much more mundane can you get?
30% increase to faction standings? Which self-respecting PvP Corp ever needs that.... Make it an automatic 9.9 faction standing for each and every alliance member and that may have more value to it...
It really takes away from the uniqueness and excitement of the tournament IMHO.

Well. That is a lot of LP indeed and 30% for ALL memebers of alliance are nothing to sniff at. It means +3.0 faction standings for all members who are 0.0 with that faction. Even if you are at 5.0 it would drag you up to 6.5 faction.
While those 30 faction ships would be nice one can get better isk out from what amount of LP if they pick caldary. I'm assuming it will not be possible to pick pirate factions for that nor 'reward only' faction ships like state issue ravens. You can get 1200 - 1500 isk/LP with caldary. Or ... perhaps they could pick sisters of EVE if minor factions are available ;)

OP, yeah it could cause a module price drop, for a while atleast. This is a game though and fluctuations happen all the time in EVE. If isk is such an all important thing to you then switch which corps you run missions for.
Sheesh all this complaining about the prize for the tournament is sickening. Do you realize just how much isk those teams lose to compete in those tournaments, and just how hard it is to win. Personaly I think the prize is almost paltry to what goes into it.

Ok they need to be more specific then. Available faction ships of any choice: Empire faction ships = ok; Pirate faction ships = y/n ? Empire state ships ? Are they seen as "available" ? Don't think they are going to hand out 30 new state issue ships, or maybe they will ? Highly unlikely.
Lps are even more interesting. Empire lps are hard to sell for 1000isk/lp now, while pirate lps are more interesting. Snakes e.g. give more than 3000isk/lp, don't know about crystals, but maybe they are worth even more. So it will depend on where the lps will be given. As Guristas were excluded from the tournament, i highly doubt the lps will be given with Guristas, at least that would not make much sense rp-wise.
Back then it was the Caldari Alliance Tournament, the prizes were nice state ships, now, as someone else than Caldaris is managing this, the prizes got worse. If something should be done right, let Caldaris do it, Caldaris are known for their professionalism.

30 faction ships/10 pilots, 3 faction ships each or 20,000,000 lp/10, 2mil lp each,
assuming that pirates trade faction ships for 600k lp like the empire factions, thats 1.8mil lp, leaving 200k lp for implant goodness. or 500k lp + 100mil for a bpc, getting 4 bpcs.
although that does leave a transport issue.
not to mention the 2mil lp -> snake implants

Pirate faction ships generally cost 400k lp and 100m isk for the bpc. - WTT - Machariel BPC, For a Paladin Contact me ingame.

I kinda doubt that when those guys cash in their LPs you can still get that kind of ISK/LP...
Seriously, LP as reward for a PvP tournament, that must be like the silliest idea ever. It is also beating a dead horse (LP) over and over and over...

This won;t effect the long term economy at all. At best it will likely only add a bunch of faction ships to the market at a bit cheaper than they have been going for and that only for a short time. IMO which is not humble.

Whine whine whine. Even if we use your low numbers for LP/hour (ignoring 0.0 mission runners), that's a ridiculously small number of hours. 5k hours split amount thousands of mission runners? That's a small part of a Friday night take. And you have the isk farmers too. They do better than 7.8k LP per hour easy.
The real problem is that you're running missions for an overloaded corp. You can do better.
