Edited by: Mnemonym on 28/02/2008 12:05:08 I've placed an advert in the Mission & Exploration Channel regards a new service I intend to provide to assist you. Below is the link to that post, but I've also included the transcript below.
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=714912
Apologies for posting in two channels, but I'd rather get as much exposure as possible and decided on hopefully the two most relevent and most traveled channels.
Attention All Mission Runners:
I would like to offer you a service for which you may or may not have a use!
I would like to clean up your area of space and even pay YOU for the priviledge. As you may well be aware many people run level 3 and 4 missions for ISK and LP in the process they leave rather a mess in space of a considerable number of wrecks, I would like to remove this blight on our spacescape.
I will pay you a 10% finders fee* made direct to your account, for which you dont even need to give me details for, and no records will be kept.
This service is intended to give you an increased mission completion rate, which in turn will increase both your ISK and LP per hour rates.
Now you no longer need to sully your hulls with space trash.
Please contact Mnemonym via evemail if you wish to make use of this service.
Just to elaborate, business will be conducted via dropped bookmark containers and wired money transfers. I wont be following you on your missions
*10% finders fee will be based on 10% market value of any SALVAGE collected. Any other trash collected will not be included as it shall be taken at my own risk, I'd rather not be blown out of space by my customers.
At the moment this service is limited to 0.5 sec status systems and above.
I'm currently based in the Domain Region but can relocate if sufficent salvage is to be collected.
Terms and Conditions apply, please ask for details of the small print.
atm I shall be trading as "Sole Trader" if Business is sufficient I shall extend my operations and may require additional resources in the form of personnel but at the moment I'm not accepting applications.
Operating Times are generally 6pm onwards GMT

I think you would be better off finding a partner to mission and fleet up with.

Edited by: Mnemonym on 28/02/2008 12:03:22 When Business is slow I intend to run my own missions
Its my entreprenurial skills kicking in.
Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained
All my customers do is drop off bookmarks for me, and they reap 10%.

Why bother asking?
Just probe them out

All I'm asking for is bookmarks to salvage, and I'll pay you 10% of whatever I salvage. Missions are just a good source of salvage, so it made sense to start there.
TBH I'd rather not being trying to salvage in the middle of a War Dec!
Just send me an Eve Mail if you are interested, you can then just leave me in your contacts list till you need my services.
Mnemonym
ps why probe them out, when I can simply ask for them :D
pps had my first customer last night :-P only got 4 mill in salvage for the first few bookmarks so I rounded it up to a 1 mill payment :D in order to appease my client into repeat business. Next bookmark I got made me 3 mill off a single bookmark so he recieved 300k. Its just a time issues for people he was able to continue missions while I collected his salvage.

Because you don't have to pay the 10% finders fee and get this warm, fuzzy feeling knowing you are ****ing a mission runner off badly and they can't do nothing about it lest they donate their ship to the CONCORD doughnut fund.

@ The Herrick
and this is probably where you fail at business
if you can honestly say you spend less than 10% of your salvage time LOOKING for mission sites, then I'll happily say that your way is more productive..... but then again I dont have the inherent costs and skill dedication associated with probing.
so more than likely in your attempt to poo on the little guy, you jumped into an entire vat of poo instead!

Someone probed me down and salvaged my wrecks, then he got popped by a wave of rats that spawned behind him lol.

You can have my wrecks, if it's practical for you to travel to Essence to collect them...
I will place a can at a safespot for bookmarks, and I only expect a small bonus in return. Mail me in-game if you're interested, I could very rarely be bothered looting or salvaging (except on a wallet-expanding salvage hunt!) when I'm missioning.

I knew there had to be something where a mutually beneficient relationship between a missioner and a corp could be worked out. Thanks for reminding me that one such way is for the missioner to let the corp send in a flock of resourcing ships to take care of the wrecks and the roids that often go unused (i still feel the pain from Eliminate the slavers 2/2. All those unmined Omber roids! ).
That might just be the ammo i need to go look for a corp before i finish the standing increase quest i am on right now.....provided i can tear myself away from my latest mistake, a cheap collection DvD of Civ 4 and all expansions, which is effectively preventing me from playing EVE much(just...one...more...turn!).

might sound like a really stupid idea.. but if you are that worried about the omber roids.... hand the mission in late! gives you all the time in the world to mine them.
Anyone thats interested in having me collect their salvage I'll add to my buddies list and try to contact you when we are both online.
So just say that you are interested and I'll check back every now and then to add more clients

First of all, you can usually get somebody to let you salvage-***** just by asking in local (no 10%). Second of all, you should be in fleet with them so you can use tractor beams. Third of all, be a man and go to an uber lowsec mission hub where the loot and salvage is phatter. One good L4 mission will give you enough salvage and loot to replace your destoyer or cruiser and its tractors and cargo expander 2s.

If its just the tags you are after then I'm sure we can come to an agreeable arrangement.... this is a business proposal its not a set in stone NPC trade.
Anywho, should be back to salvaging in the very near future so send me an eve mail and I'll try to get back to you

I'm sorry, but they way you describe this is bothering me. You are not offering a service. In fact, you are looking for others to provide you with a service, namely, the location of salvageable wrecks. You are paying someone else for their service.
That being said, it can be beneficial to people who do not salvage, though I think it would not really be worth your time unless you can find people within a couple jumps of your location. You may want to do some time-cost analyses to find out how many jumps it would be worth making for both level 3 and 4 missions.
In addition, I personally find that salvaging wrecks from higher quality mission givers tends to be more lucrative than same-level agents of lower quality. You may want to take that into account with your analyses, possibly adjusting fee schedules based on agent quality. 5.4 million SP and counting. |
