Yeah, I think the question was pointed towards the new ability to augment drones in trinity. Because I haven't heard of any drones named, just augmented. Although, does it change their name when you augment them, I have never seen one that's why I ask.

Edited by: Pilk on 29/02/2008 16:40:24 Yes, they're available in-game. Was a BPC for them on contract in Amarr a while back that I happened to see. Quite rare at the moment, however.
Edit: There are 'augmented' and 'integrated' versions of the drones. Guy above me is either using very, very different terminology than the rest of us, or is on *****.

Shouldn't be replying, but just have to :P
I personally _think_ they're in-game, I got stuff to build them from drone spawns in 0.0 space and i think BPC's are to find, as very rare drops in the drone regions. But i could be wrong.
But Yes, there are named drones in the game database and in-game items to build them and i believe you can link to a BP for the named drones, to see the materials requirements.

To the experts: Named drones are called 'augmented' drones. The parts to build them can be found in the drone region exploration sites. These drones are better than T1 and (I stand to be corrected) better than T2. --- Selling Rokh BPO ME 45

They're ingame, they're slightly better than t2.
But they're also FAR FAR FAR too expensive to even consider building.

Last I checked they required a T2 drone to build, did the same damage, but the damage was split over 2 types, which makes them less useful. Their only real advantage was more HP.

You get the parts from other plexes outside drone regions too (sansha 6/10 for sure), in random things you blow up. At first i wondered wtf i had found lol. Also there are "augmented" and "integrated" one is suped up t1 (doesnt require the lvl 5 skill) the other is suped up t2, cant remember which is which tho

There are actually two forms of named drones.
'Augmented' - these are split damage type T2 skills drones, they require t2 drones to build and the t2 skills to use them, advantage seems to be in hitpoints beyond the split damage.
'Integrated' are split damage type named T1 drones. I believe these actually do more damage then normal T1 drones, but maybe someone can confirm this. They obviously only require T1 skills also.
And as many people have said in the post already. The BPC's drop from drone region hacking and archeology sites.
