Howdy!
Just thought I'd type out a few things after our first day of broadcasting the Fifth Alliance Tournament.
First off, apologies for the technical problems we've had today. We had some audio issues in the first couple of hours of the broadcast which the team worked hard on and managed to resolve as soon as was possible, it should now remain clean and clear .
We've also had the usual problems of buffering and stuttering effecting some viewers. As Friday broadcasts go we actually got fairly high viewing numbers and I believe we took our streaming hosts by surprise, their on the case and hopefully tomorrow you should all be getting a much better service.
If you do have any more issues with the stream please email [email protected] with any relevant information and your IP address.
So its late and the broadcast ended hours ago, so what am I still doing in the office? Well as with the last tournament we are going to upload every single match all organized into a handy player found at www.eve-online.com/evetv. These are being edited, exported and uploaded as we speak and each day's matches will be available by the next day's downtime, just to keep you occupied with Eve 24/7 .
We're also still accepting player made adverts, for more details check this post.
So we'll see you once again on Saturday at 14:50 for the second day of the Fifth Alliance Tournament!

There was also an issue with getting connected in the first place. Many of us using Firefox and Winamp got nowhere with the links to the stream (well...some with FF said it was fine..lnot sure what it was but many had it). I got it running on WMP but I really dislike WMP.
Not a huge deal but something to think about.
Apart from the cruddy sound there for a few hours great job. I look forward to tomorrow's show!

Excellent first day, had no problems, bar the audio. But I know how much work goes into something like this, you just make it look easy.
Great job and praying for series 2 of Eve Tv weekly

Hello viewers and Loxy alike. Klicking on the shiny button alone did nothing. On my screen it opened a blank white tab in firefox. On my fianceT's screen it did open WMP but it was just a grey picture and no sound. Right klicking the shiny button, copying the link adress and pasting into VLC manually worked fine though.

Any chance you can use alternative streaming in future? or allow selection of what video bitrate to use? atm you seem to only offer one.
VLC cant buffer fast enough - even when using a 30mb mms buffer, I will run into issues. However over on Kaffine/xine the stream works well. But since I want to watch in Windows, that doesnt help me. Cant use MPC/etc due to them wanting ActivehaX for mms. Basically the way the stream uses a 0.5Hz Burst, above the 22k/s rate runs into issues unless you have 1mb+, which basically kills people like me running on 384k down, would be fine if it just did a constant 40k/s. Not 22k-38k-22k-40k-22k-39k etc.

VLC doesn't work for me, Media Player under Vista works 'ok' but it has times where it drops out for several minutes... Living on the other side of the world from the servers, quite literally.
