-stop threatening to move missions to lowsec! it is already hard enough for us to run lvl 4s (which have been overdue to become more profitable in quite some time!) and any more difficulty will result in masses of empire missioners leaving the game alltogether
............................................................ First of all highsec ganks and scams are 2 diffrent things. You can prevent highsec ganks but even the most cautious person can get scammed but I do think scammers need some kind of punishment that goes along with the lore. The biggest problem I think CCP has is 1 they dont riemburse most of their customers after a legitamate loss do to their game bugs ect and when there is a epic battle the node crashes so then why make videos showing off huge fleets against each other when most of the time the node or system will crash or lag out ? beats me..... players have been able to lag out a system just by using 2 logistics ships go figure.

Stop letting players use this games one aspect that hasnt been met by any other mmo initiative to date. Stop providing a quality game to the one niche that goes unheard. God damnit, put more rules in or I`m going to WoW when WoLK comes out, Im jonesin to do 8 more months of raiding for the 3rd time.

CCP's trying to do something different.
Not just create a "game" but a comminity-driven world.
Think of it as a social experiment.
Project EvE.
What we see today is society turning on itself, attacking itself.
This is what would happen if the world was a real anarchy.
A prison environment where the inmates outnumber the cops 1000:1
Someone gets shanked or buttr4ped in the shower room, hey it happens every day.
What IS true however is that for the purposes of a for-profit business this is bad. Most people wouldn't pay money to have a prison experience.
Couple that with the fact that the prisoners who came to Eve first pretty much run the prison, the ones that got here first never had to deal with suicide ganking, they didn't have camped choke points 24/7, there were no bubbles in 0.0, you didn't need to call an army to go from point A to point B, it's the new prisoners that have to deal with that.
3 years ago in my ignorance I was flying my Bestower around lowsec with no stabs, trading in livestock, I did this for months and never got ganked.
Back then you could fly a hauler from one end of 0.0 to the other on autopilot and have a 50/50 chance of making it.
The game has changed so much, it's 10x more dangerous than it was when most of us were "growing up."
At the same time money has become 10x easier to make.
It took me 3 months to get into my first cruiser, I worked my @ss off to get that ship, now its like "hey I've been playing 2 days which cruiser should I get."
On the whole I'd say Eve has gotten better with time, however one has to account for population when discussing game mechanics.
The game mechanics that work when you have 5000 people online might not be suitable when you have 30,000 online and CCP has been very slow to evolve those mechanics, only when a mechanic gets WIDELY abused do they step in and say "hey wait, this is not how we intended it."
In my opinion they have been REACTIVE rather than pro-active in solving problems, they wait for a small problem to become a huge problem before putting out a patch 6 months later.

LOL nice metaphor but it goes a little far into the real world. Do you squat on a broomstick every time your ship explodes?

Lol but seriously, prison would be pretty fun without the pain, death, and buttseks. Thats kinda what EVE is about. Wild west or whatever. . .

It was originally intended to be a sandbox.
Long distance between sandbox and prison.
Look I'm a big fan of dark sci-fi, evil goth etc, but I accept the fact that other people might not be.
Thats why supposedly we have 3 types of zones in the game, so different people can play how they want.
Yes there SHOULD be targetted assassinations in highsec, there SHOULD be crime, there SHOULD be extortion, there SHOULD be darkness.
But there should also be balance.
Concord remains the only sheriff in town, and Concord is impotent because the insurance company keeps giving the criminal a new ship.
As far as I'm concerned all of Eve now is 0.0
Thats fine with me, but that's not a "sandbox."
It's not the "wild west" either, in the wild west if you so much as stole someone's horse they would hang you.

OP You just don't understand. Adapt or die isn't just a phrase in EVE, it's a choice we all must make. I choose to adapt (3 day's to heavy interdictors ), and you choose to?
And then there is this:
Originally by: Ghreymar LaNayeur
This has finally been brought to a head by the recent "jihad" of goonswarm against other fellow law-abiding citizens of empire space. Not only is this war a direct insult to all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as all those brave soldiers fighting and dying against the terrorists in Iraq and Iran, but they are also FURTHER undermining the efforts of law abiding empire residents in their pursuit of peace and economic gain.
There is no room for your September01 in our EVE, take it to OOP or sthu. (Yes a US citizen, i have that right)

Edited by: Siddy on 05/03/2008 06:14:57 I was just a boy when the infidels came to my roid blet in their Black ops cruisers. The infidels fired at the roid fields and they lit up like the eyes of Allah. Burning veldespar rained down from the sky and cooked everything it touched. I could only hide myself and cry as my barges were consumed by the fiery, black ore of death. In the midst of the chaos, I could swear that I heard my mining barges screaming for help. As quickly as they had come, the infidels were gone. It was on that day I put a jihad on them! And if you don't believe it, then you better kill me now,
because I'll put a jihad on you too.

Tbh you will not see in youre life that everybody quits playing Eve. Its the best and just tbh again the number 1 MMPO game there is. But beside that i wasnt planning to play Eve till i drop dead on the floor at a very old age. Have a lot to do more with my life actually.
And i still like to play BF 1942 and Vietnam a lot. At least im almost always ****ing in my pants from laughting during that game. I never ever did that with Eve tbh.

-stop threatening to move missions to lowsec! it is already hard enough for us to run lvl 4s (which have been overdue to become more profitable in quite some time!) and any more difficulty will result in masses of empire missioners leaving the game alltogether
-give us more toys to play with! we consist of the majority of eve players, yet all new content is geared towards the small minority who choose to follow the narrow profession of combat pilots"
Ok. First off.
- HIC's and being caught in low sec. It's LOW SECURITY. Dont' go there if you don't want to engage in combat.
- Empire ganking. I agree to a point. The punishment for ganking in empire needs more teeth. What those teeth are, I don't know, but they need more. Maybe revoke insurance for a ship lost while in combat with another player.
- Moveing Missions to low sec. I also agree this is something that Should not be done. I would just make missions in lowsec/0.0 be a LOT more lucrative. Then those who with to take the risk, also gain more for said risk.
- What toys? They just released a whole new level of production(invention), a whole new class of Battleships designed specifically for mission running. Eve is a PVP game first. NOT an economic simulator.
Please get this through your head.
EVE IS PVP.
Combat pvp. Maket pvp. Sov pvp. Forum pvp. Mineing pvp. Production PVP. Invention PVP.
Every part of this game is PLAYER vs PLAYER. PVP is NOT just combat. PVP is everything you do in this game that can be ranked againt other players, where one player competes against another in ANY way in this game.
You want a way to avoid most of these issues.
Move to a 0.0 alliance. You'll find better mining, better missions(in the areas with missions) better ratting, Production that is more challengeing and becuase of said challenge, more fullfilling when you accomplish it.
Do you realise that most 0.0 regions are safer to mine/rat/mission run in then highsec! In 0.0 alliance's, you have people adviseing you of hostiles inbound. You have folks willing to band together with you to drive them out. You have people willing to work with you as a team.
All of this is a reason to move to a 0.0 alliance. So what if you have to learn to pvp. I hate mining, but I do it for my corp/alliance. I hate production, but I trained it for my corp/alliance.
If all you want to do is "Carebear", join a 0.0 alliance, and do the little pvp that is required to sa***uard your home in 0.0, and you'll find you are happier, enjoy the game more BECAUSE of the greater challenge.
Is EVE perfect, no. Is WOW perfect? HELL no. No MMO is perfect. They all appeal to different people. Learn to enjoy the game you have, make suggestions(Good detailed ones that are not flame bait) and give them to CCP in the proper forum section, and you will be surpised how many good suggestions will be looked into by CCP.

Im not saying i agree with op, im saying that this guy tries to say something that bothers him, he writes down a whole text and some people answer to him "you are troll stfu". So who is the troll again?
You did spot the linking to Hello Kitty Online, right? It couldn't be more obvious trolling if he wore a giant, purple sign saying "here be trolls, repent now" while singing a song about happy little trolls and their friends defending their swamp against an evil prince.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll
Learn the definition of a word before trashing it around like garbage ><
The only thing in his post that truly is irrelevant in this case is his jibberish about jihad 11th of september etc...
The other points is his perspective on the game, I dont agree with it but I wont tell him to STFU either.
Ps. one thing I do agree with him, but dont have a solution to is the suicidal thing = Risk vs Reward. Suiciding highsec missioners is always low risk with high reward = bad balance.
